Utah junior CB Jaylon Johnson announced Friday that he will forego his final year of eligibility and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
Johnson (6'0/195) has been outstanding all season long for the Utes, who consistently ask their corners to play man coverage on the outside. The junior cornerback has started all 13 of Utah’s games at left corner, accounting for 36 total tackles (34 solo, 1.0 for loss), two interceptions and 11 pass breakups. In November, Dane Brugler of The Athletic projected Johnson to be a top-50 pick in this spring’s NFL Draft, and USA Today DraftWire’s Luke Easterling had a similar projection back in May. Johnson shouldn’t last past the second round.
