Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports the Seahawks are expected to hire Jay Harbaugh as their special teams coordinator.
Harbaugh was widely expected to join his father, Jim Harbaugh, in Los Angeles, but he’ll instead join Mike Macdonald in Seattle. Harbaugh is familiar with Macdonald, as the two spent the 2014 season together in Baltimore and the 2021 season together in Michigan. In addition to working with special teams, Harbaugh has also spent time working with tight ends and running backs at Michigan. At just 34 years old, a few successful stints, coupled with his family’s coaching background, could put him in the conversation as a head coach in the near future.
