Giants acquired G Jason Whittle from Tampa Bay
The Giants offensive line has been worse than imagined this preseason. Whittle could step in for the injured Barry Stokes.
  • Bills placed G/C Jason Whittle on injured reserve with a torn hamstring, ending his season, and signed LB Kevin Harrison from the practice squad.
Whittle signed a one-year deal in the offseason and could be released with an injury settlement once he heals. He’s a serviceable backup lineman.
  • BUF Tackle
The Bills have named Brad Butler their starting right guard.
He got the nod over Duke Preston and journeyman Jason Whittle. Butler, a second-year player, has made the transition from college tackle to guard.
  • Starting right guard Jason Whittle left the game limping to the dressing room.
We’ll update his status as soon as we know more.
  • Bills G/C Jason Whittle tore his hamstring in Sunday’s defeat.
The Bills will need Brad Butler back at full strength now. This team is by far the most banged up in the NFL. Bodies are dropping like flies in Buffalo.
  • Bills re-signed G/C Jason Whittle.
Whittle is a valuable special teamer, and can play both center and guard. He missed most of last season with a torn hamstring, but says that he has no residual effects. He’ll continue to be a reserve in Buffalo.
  • Bills G Jason Whittle left Sunday’s game in the fourth quarter and did not return.
Whittle, who was filling in for injured guard Brad Butler, had strained his quadriceps last weekend. The Bills did not comment on his injury after the game.
  • The Vikings signed G/C Jason Whittle.
The eight-year veteran was released by the Giants earlier this week. This makes it unlikely the Vikings will sign free agent Cory Withrow, who started last season while Matt Birk was sidelined.
  • G Jason Whittle’s contract is for one-year and $695,000.
    He’ll probably be a backup.
