    Eagles waived QB Carson Strong.
The teams also cut RB Jason Huntley, S Jaquiski Tartt, OL Cameron Tom, and DT Rennell Wren. Philly took a shot on Strong as a UDFA after he didn’t hear his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft. Strong is a capable pocket passer who could develop into a backup with enough time. He should find his way onto a practice squad soon.

  • Running Back #28
    Eagles released RB Jordan Howard.
The Eagles now have just three running backs on their roster: Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, and Kenny Gainwell. The Eagles also waived/released DB Andrew Adams, OT Le’Raven Clark, DL Hassan Ridgeway, TE Richard Rodgers, DB Kevon Seymour, DB Grayland Arnold, OG Kayode Awosika, WR Travis Fulgham, WR John Hightower, RB Jason Huntley, DB Craig James, DL Matt Leo, OG Iosua Opeta, WR Andre Patton, C Ross Pierschbacher, DB Elijah Riley, S JaCoby Stevens, and DL Raequan Williams.

  • Running Back #31
    Eagles waived RB Jason Huntley.
Huntley, a former Lions draft pick out of New Mexico State, was active for five games last year, carrying the ball five times for 19 yards. The speedy back will likely land on a practice squad this summer or fall.

  • FA Running Back #17
The Athletic’s Bo Wulf said Adrian Killins “is a running back in name only and will likely spend his summer working as a slot receiver.”
Wulf projected the diminutive Killins -- 5'8" and 177 pounds -- to make the team’s final roster, though he won’t be used as a ball carrier out of the backfield. Killins in his rookie year had one disastrous carry for -12 yards. Wulf said RB Jason Huntley could be among the Eagles’ final cuts this summer as the team’s backfield rounds into shape. Killins remains a long way from fantasy relevance even if he remains on Philadelphia’s roster this season.

  • Running Back #31
Eagles claimed RB Jason Huntley off waivers from the Lions.
Huntley was the Lions’ fifth-round pick in April, but he didn’t make it through final cuts after Detroit added Adrian Peterson to a backfield that already included D’Andre Swift and Kerryon Johnson. Huntley slides in as the Eagles’ No. 4 running back behind Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, and Corey Clement. Huntley is very slight at 5'9/194 but was electric with the ball in his hands at New Mexico State.

  • Running Back #31
    Lions waived RB Jason Huntley.
Huntley was a fifth-round pick a few months ago, but he doesn’t crack the initial 53-man roster. At New Mexico State, Huntley had some explosive runs. He just may not have the size (5'9/194) to hang in the NFL. The Lions probably hope to sign him on the practice squad, but another team may swoop in. His path to an active roster is as a special teamer who can catch passes on third down.

  • Running Back #31
Lions selected New Mexico State RB Jason Huntley with the No. 172 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Lions added a traditional, and potential foundation, running back in the second round in D’Andre Swift. They now circle back with a potential playmaker and space back in Huntley, who was absolutely electric in college. Huntley posted over 1,000 rushing yards as a senior, 40 receptions and 11 total touchdowns. He was not invited to the NFL Combine, but it would not have been surprising to see Huntley post great explosion scores if the draft process was not canceled this year. If he makes the Lions roster, it likely will be in place of Ty Johnson.

  • Running Back #31
New Mexico State senior RB Jason Huntley took 17 carries for 105 yards in Saturday’s 49-28 loss to Liberty.
Huntley was a far better player for the Aggies than the team’s record would suggest. At 7.1 yards per attempt on the season, Huntley earned over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns in his senior year. Surely Huntley would have liked to win a few more games, especially the last one, but he should be proud of what he accomplished as the offense’s feature player.
  • Running Back #31
New Mexico State senior RB Jason Huntley carried the ball 14 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 44-25 win over UTEP.
Huntley exploded every single time he touched the ball. The speedy 5-foot-9, 193-pound senior has been NMSU’s feature player all year, but Saturday marked his highest yardage total of the year and the only time he’s cleared 10 yards per carry. It was also the only game in which he scored multiple rushing touchdowns this year. Huntley will need another stunning game next week to beat Liberty.
