Seahawks signed QB Jaren Hall, formerly of the Vikings.
Hall will get a chance to further his development with the Seahawks. The former fifth-round pick spent one season with the Vikings but was let go on roster cutdown day. Hall completed 13-of-20 passes for 168 yards and one interception in limited action as a rookie. Barring an absolutely dire situation at quarterback for the Seahawks in 2024, we would expect to see little, if any, of Hall.

    Vikings waived QB Jaren Hall.
Hall may have a chance to return to the Vikings’ practice squad if he clears waivers, but he won’t be a part of the team’s 53-man roster. The former fifth-round pick threw for 339 yards and four touchdowns this preseason and started two games for them last season. Hall threw for just 168 yards as a rookie, with no touchdowns and one interception. Hall could be a potential candidate for spring football next year.
  • MIN Quarterback #9
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said rookie QB J.J. McCarthy will get “a significant amount of work” against the Raiders on Saturday.
Sam Darnold will get the start before McCarthy takes the reins. Second-year QB Jaren Hall will play after that. McCarthy’s extensive repetitions backlit by Darnold and Hall’s showings should give viewers a good idea of McCarthy’s development thus far.
  • MIN Quarterback #16
The Vikings declared CB Mekhi Blackmon, CB Byron Murphy Jr., QB Jaren Hall, S Theo Jackson, OG Ed Ingram, OT Brian O’Neill, and DL Jaquelin Roy inactive for Week 18 against the Lions.
The Vikings are about as healthy as they can hope to be heading into a must-win week against the Lions. The Vikings need more than a win to clinch a spot in the NFC playoffs, while a loss would knock them from playoff contention. With the Lions playing their starters, the Vikings will have their work cut out for them to keep their season alive.
  • MIN Quarterback #12
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said Nick Mullens will start in Week 18 against the Lions.
Jaren Hall got the start in Week 17 but didn’t last long. He was pulled at halftime after throwing for 67 yards and an interception in the first half. Mullens threw for 113 yards and a touchdown. Mullens threw for 411 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions in his last start. The results were mixed, but he wasn’t afraid the chuck it up for Justin Jefferson and let fate decide the rest. Mullens will rank as a fantasy QB2 for Week 18.
  • MIN Quarterback #16
Vikings QB Jaren Hall was benched at halftime in Week 17 against the Packers.
Hall was replaced by Nick Mullens coming out of the break after completing 5-of-10 passes for 67 yards, with one interception and one fumble lost. The fifth-round rookie clearly needs more grooming prior to developing into an NFL starter.

Vikings beat reporter Ben Goessling reports QB Jaren Hall will start in Week 17 against the Packers.
Hall finished the game the last time these two teams met following the injury to Kirk Cousins. He started the following game in Week 9 before departing after just 11 offensive snaps due to concussion before seeing Joshua Dobbs and Nick Mullens start the following six games. Now fully healthy and with Dobbs and Mullens struggling, Hall will be charged with securing a playoff spot for the 7-8 Vikings.

The Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling reports the Vikings could start any three of their quarterbacks in Week 17.
Goessling reports that Kevin O’Connell said “All three of those guys are worthy of being involved in that discussion. We’ll make the best decision in the interest of winning games.” Joshua Dobbs was benched in favor of Nick Mullens a couple of weeks ago due to turnovers and ineffectiveness, while Jaren Hall hasn’t gotten another chance since suffering a concussion. It looks like the Vikings are laying out all options as they fight for their playoff lives.
  • MIN Quarterback #15
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said Joshua Dobbs will serve as the team’s emergency QB in Week 15 against the Bengals.
Dobbs has quickly gone from one of the best stories in football to just another guy on a roster. After leading the Vikings to an unprecedented win over the Falcons in Week 9 and logging a Week 10 win over the Saints, Dobbs’ light appears to have gone out. He’s 1-2 in his last three starts and has two touchdowns to five interceptions to show over that span. Rookie Jaren Hall will serve as the backup to Nick Mullens on Saturday as the Vikings look to keep their name in the playoff hunt.
  • MIN Quarterback #15
Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said the team could make a quarterback change when they return from their bye week.
O’Connell in a Tuesday presser appeared ready to move on from Josh Dobbs after his Monday night meltdown against the Bears. Dobbs threw for 185 yards, one touchdown, and four picks, appearing out of sorts throughout. O’Connell said the team would choose a starting quarterback for Week 14 (after the team’s bye) based on which signal caller could best get the ball to Justin Jefferson, who is returning from a hamstring injury. “We’re going to make sure that whoever is playing quarterback is aware and understands the intent behind plays where either Justin is the primary [target], or based upon coverage, based upon the defensive look, how to quickly and efficiently get to the right place to go with the football,” O’Connell said. That puts rookie QB Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens firmly in play to take over for Dobbs in Week 14 against the Raiders. Both QBs should be monitored in superflex formats.
