Bears placed Jaquan Brisker (concussion) on injured reserve.
The move appears to be long overdue. Brisker suffered the concussion in Week 5 and has been unable to practice ever since. Hopefully, the talented safety can spend the rest of the season healing up while focusing on his long-term health.
  • CHI Safety #9
Bears declared S Jaquan Brisker, LB Noah Sewell, OT Darnell Wright, OT Braxton Jones, DB Ameer Speed, DE Darrell Taylor, G Nate Davis, and OT Kiran Amegadjie inactive for Week 10 against the Patriots.
Brisker continues to be sidelined due to a concussion. The Bears are also down Jones, Wright, and Amegadjie on the offensive line while Taylor and Sewell will both miss Week 10 due to knee injuries.
  • CHI Cornerback #6
Bears CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring) is questionable for Week 9 against the Cardinals.
Safety Jaquan Brisker remains out with a concussion. Gordon did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday before getting in a limited session to close the week, giving him a shot at returning to the lineup on Sunday. Gordon has one pass breakup, two TFLs, and two fumble recoveries this year. With multiple key defenders questionable or already ruled out, Chicago’s elite defense could be an easier matchup than expected for Kyler Murray.
  • CHI Cornerback #6
Bears ruled out CB Kyler Gordon (hamstring) for Week 8 against the Commanders.
The Bears’ interior coverage unit is thin for this one. Gordon mans the slot and S Jaquan Brisker (concussion) is also unable to play. If Jayden Daniels (ribs) is good to go, these losses could prove pivotal.
  • CHI Safety #9
Bears S Jaquan Brisker, DT Zacch Pickens, and CB Terell Smith did not travel with the team to London ahead of their Week 6 game against the Jaguars.
Brisker was unable to clear concussion protocol while Pickens (groin) and Smith (hip) will be held out of action as well. It is unclear if any of the three would have had a chance to play had their Week 6 game not been in London, but they will be out as things currently stand.
  • CHI Safety #9
Bears S Jaquan Brisker (concussion) does not practice on Wednesday.
Brisker’s situation is a unique one. The safety took a big shot during a Raiders two-point conversion attempt back in Week 7 and cleared the concussion protocol at the time. However, he then got sick a few days later. When his fever cleared on Sunday, he still felt other symptoms, so the Bears held him out of Week 8. Now he’ll start the week off not practicing; however, the Bears just held a walkthrough on Wednesday, so it remains to be seen if Brisker will be on the field against the Saints.
  • CHI Safety #9
Bears S Jaquan Brisker (hamstring) is active for Week 5 against the Commanders.
Brisker tweaked his hamstring in Wednesday’s practice but is thankfully good to go. It’s rare good news for the Bears’ defense with Eddie Jackson and Jaylon Johnson already sidelined. Joining Jackson and Johnson on the inactive list are WR Chase Claypool, RB D’Onta Foreman, S Duron Harmon and OL Aviante Collins.
  • CHI Safety #9
Bears S Jaquan Brisker (hamstring) is questionable for Week 5 against the Commanders.
The Bears are already without Eddie Jackson and Jaylon Johnson for week 5. Losing Brisker would be a devastating blow to a defense that is already one of the worst in the league at stopping quarterbacks. Brisker wasn’t listed on the injury report until today, so he appears to have suffered the injury during practice.
  • CHI Safety #4
Bears S Eddie Jackson left Week 2 against the Bucs with a foot injury and is questionable to return.
Jackson left the medical tent and was seen on a cart with his left foot covered up, so his return appears unlikely. With Jaquan Brisker (illness) also leaving the game, the Bears are without their starting safeties, and it’s probably no coincidence that Baker Mayfield hit Mike Evans for 70 yards after both players left. It could be wheels up for this Bucs offense in the second half.
  • CHI Safety #9
Bears S Jaquan Brisker left Week 2 vs the Bucs with an illness and is questionable to return.
The Bears also lost Eddie Jackson (foot) in the middle of the game, so they’re now down half of their starting secondary likely for the rest of the game. That should be good news for Baker Mayfield, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and the Bucs offense.
