  • SF Running Back #28
49ers promoted RB Tevin Coleman from the practice squad.
Coleman will add depth to the 49ers’ 53-man roster ahead of Saturday’s Wild Card matchup with Seattle. The 49ers also promoted CB Janoris Jenkins from the practice squad to the active roster.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
    Titans released CB Janoris Jenkins.
The move will clear $6.9 million in cap space for Tennessee. “Jackrabbit” Jenkins lasted one season with the Titans, who had Pro Football Focus’ sixth highest pass coverage grade in 2021. Jenkins, 33, had one interception in 13 games last year. He’ll likely land somewhere in quick order.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
Titans declared CB Janoris Jenkins, LB Joe Jones, LB David Long, OL Daniel Munyer, LG Rodger Saffold, DL Larrell Murchison, and DT Teair Tart inactive for Week 15 against the Steelers.
Jenkins’ (ankle) absence is a boost to Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool. Saffold is out with a shoulder issue. Aaron Brewer (toe) will start in Saffold’s place.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Titans CB Janoris Jenkins is expected to miss “some time” with a foot/ankle sprain.
Rapsheet noted that the Titans get their bye this week so Jenkins may be able to avoid injured reserve. Jenkins has started 11 games for the Titans this year, missing just one contest with a chest injury. He has four pass defenses on the year and routinely plays every defensive snap for Tennessee. The slumping Titans get Jacksonville and Pittsburgh coming out of their bye, so Jenkins’ absence may be less impactful based on their opponents and how quickly he can return.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
Titans declared CB Jackrabbit Jenkins, RB Jeremy McNichols, CB Greg Mabin, LB David Long Jr., LB Rashaan Evans, G Nate Davis, and TE Geoff Swaim inactive for Week 11’s game against Houston.
Jenkins was the only one of these players who was injured and still questionable, but his chest injury will hold him out of this one. Davis, Evans, McNichols, Long, Mabin, and Swaim were all ruled out on Friday with various ailments. As far as players we care about in fantasy leagues, McNichols and Swaim are both in concussion protocol, pushing third-down back work to the other Titans backs and TE targets to Anthony Firkser.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
Titans signed CB Janoris Jenkins, formerly of the Saints.
Jenkins was a cap casualty with the Saints last week, but he quickly found a market and will be partially responsible for replacing Adoree Jackson and Malcolm Brown, both of whom where released during free agency. The Titans still have plenty of work to do in the secondary before they get back to average pass defense, but Jenkins has been a reliable starter for years and he’s a good scheme fit with the man-heavy Titans. He’ll be 33 years old next season.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
    Saints released CB Janoris Jenkins.
It’s yet another aggressive transaction as the team continues to snake its way under the cap. Having said that, New Orleans was never keeping 32-year-old Jenkins around for the $14.2 million he counted against the cap this year, even structuring his contract in a way they could get out of it in 2021. Jenkins started 13 games in 2020 but, outside of being an upgrade over former boundary CB Eli Apple, performed subpar. The organization remains roughly $24 million over the projected $183 million cap for 2021.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
Janoris Jenkins (knee) is out for Week 13 against the Falcons.
Jenkins looked to injure his knee on a Week 12 interception against the Broncos. He exited the game and did not return. Jenkins’ absence is a bit of a boon for Atlanta’s passing offense, but not much.

  • NO Defensive Back #23
Saints CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday.
Lattimore was limited on Thursday, as well. He’s trending towards a questionable tag, but Saturday’s injury report will tell the full story. Saints S Malcolm Jenkins has also been limited all week, while CB Janoris Jenkins hasn’t practiced. New Orleans’ defense hasn’t lived up to preseason expectations, partly due to these injuries.

  • SF Defensive Back #20
Saints CB Janoris Jenkins (shoulder) won’t play for Week 4 against Detroit.
All-Pro CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) has also been ruled out. Both Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones can be fired up with confidence in Week 4 as the Saints will be depending on P.J. Williams, Patrick Robinson and Justin Hardee against the Lions Sunday.
