Jaguars waived RB Deji Karim, LB JoJo Dickson, LB Jammie Kirlew, K Sam Swank, CB Trumaine McBride, and LB Stephen Franklin.
Karim boasts impressive measurables, but he fell out of favor down the stretch last season after averaging just 2.1 yards on 63 carries as Maurice Jones-Drew’s backup. He could draw interest as a kickoff-return candidate.
  • FA Defensive Back #38
Jaguars signed CB Trumaine McBride and promoted DE Jammie Kirlew from the practice squad.
McBride adds depth to an injury-ravaged secondary. He’s played in 47 games with 10 starts since entering the league as a Bears seventh-round pick in 2007. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Kirlew was a seventh-round pick by the Bears in 2010.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman #59
Broncos agreed to terms with seventh-round pick LB Jammie Kirlew on a four-year, $1.84 million contract.
The deal comes with a signing bonus worth roughly $50,000. Kirlew, 23, was a two-time All-Big Ten selection in his four years at Indiana University and finished with 220 tackles -- 150 solo -- in 48 games.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman #59
Broncos waived LB Jammie Kirlew, WR Alric Arnett, TE Nathan Overbay, LB Johnny Williams, OT Paul Duncan, and TE Kory Sperry.
Kirlew is the best bet for the practice squad out of this group. He was a seventh-round pick in April’s draft, but was outplayed by undrafted rookie Kevin Alexander. Duncan, another undrafted free agent, played at Notre Dame.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman #59
Bills signed OLB Jammie Kirlew and OT Jason Watkins to reserve/future contracts.
A defensive end at Indiana, Kirlew was the Broncos’ seventh-round draft pick last April. He’ll be carried on the 80-man roster, possibly into training camp.
