Commanders declared WR Jamison Crowder, CB Emmanuel Forbes, DE Jamin Davis, G Chris Paul, ILB Dominique Hampton, S Darrick Forrest, and QB Sam Hartman inactive for Week 2 against the Giants.
Crowder signed a one-year deal with Washington in the offseason but is currently buried on the depth chart. Luke McCaffrey will continue to get the bulk of the slot reps for Washington.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #83
Commanders re-signed WR Jamison Crowder to one-year contract.
Crowder was highly productive as a slot wide receiver over the first seven years of his career before injury-riddled seasons in 2021 and 2022 derailed his momentum. He signed with the Commanders prior to the 2023 season but played more than 60 percent of the team’s offensive snaps in just two of his final 10 healthy games. It appears as if Dyami Brown has not done enough to unseat the veteran, meaning we should expect Crowder to begin the 2024 season as the starting slot wide receiver for the Commanders.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #83
Jamison Crowder caught 4-of-6 targets for 23 yards in the Commanders’ Week 9 win over the Patriots.
After going for 7-95-1 last week, Crowder crashed back to earth in Week 9. Nobody is going to complain about his six targets, but the big plays just weren’t there to lead to a productive fantasy day. Crowder will be hard to trust in Week 10 against the Seahawks, and will be off the fantasy radar completely if Curtis Samuel (toe) returns.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #83
Jamison Crowder caught 7-of-7 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown in the Commanders’ Week 8 loss to the Eagles.
Crowders’ surprise performance came on the heels of Curtis Samuel (toe) exiting with an injury, and was boosted by a fourth-quarter drive in which he caught three passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. It as a vintage performance for Crowder, who turned in several long receptions on the day, but he’s still a risky bet as far as fantasy is concerned. He’d have some deep league upside if Samuel were to miss any time, but that’s his best case scenario at this point.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #83
Commanders signed WR/PR Jamison Crowder to its 53-man roster.
Crowder was promoted to the active roster ahead of Week 1’s matchup against the Cardinals, and returned three punts on the afternoon. With punt returner Dax Milne (groin) currently on injured reserve, the Commanders have a need to keep Crowder around for the next three games. Crowder can also provide added depth as a slot receiver, although he didn’t play an offensive snap in Week 1.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #83
Commanders elevated WR Jamison Crowder from the practice squad.
Crowder was signed to the team’s practice squad on Wednesday and now gets the call to serve as wide receiver depth for Week 1. Terry McLaurin is expected to play against the Cardinals after dealing with a turf toe injury during preseason, so this move was likely made for Crowder to serve as the primary punt returner.
  • WAS Wide Receiver #80
Commanders signed Jamison Crowder to the team’s practice squad.
Crowder, who played four seasons in Washington to start his pro career, will rejoin the team ahead of their regular season opener against Arizona. The Commanders could be preparing for Terry McLaurin (toe) to miss a game or two. In that case, Crowder could be called up to the game day roster.
  • FA Wide Receiver #80
Commanders met with free agent WR Jamison Crowder.
Crowder cut his teeth in the league with Washington after they selected him in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. The veteran slot receiver posted a 221-2,628-14 line in four seasons with Washington, and parlayed his success into a three-year, $28.5 million contract from the Jets in the 2019 offseason. The Commanders have a relatively deep receiver room, with Curtis Samuel currently listed as the starting slot receiver. A reunion with Crowder would be little more than a depth signing at this point.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
    Giants released WR David Sills.
Sills continues to try and catch on to a 53-man roster but will be left off the Giants’ final lineup. Sills had a solid preseason for the G-Men, totaling eight receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown, which included a solid 6-81-1 line in the final game. In addition to Sills, the Giants also released/waived QB Tommy DeVito, RB Jashaun Corbin, WR Kalil Pimpleton, TE Ryan Jones, OT Tyre Phillips, DT Ryder Anderson, DT Kobe Smith, DE Habakkuk Baldonado, LB Darrian Beavers, LB Tomon Fox, LB Ray Wilborn, LB Dyontae Johnson, CB Gemon Greeen, S Alex Cook, LS Cameron Lyons, LB Oshane Ximines, WR Jamison Crowder, WR Cole Beasley, CB Amani Oruwariye, and C Sean Harlow.
  • FA Wide Receiver #80
    Giants released WR Jamison Crowder.
Crowder was one of several veteran slot receivers in the Giants’ receiver room and the first cut after the team activated Wan’Dale Robinson from the PUP list. Crowder has caught just 57 passes for 507 yards over the last two seasons and was slowed by an ankle injury last season. At 30 years old, he could still have enough in the tank to catch on with a team in need of a serviceable slot receiver. In three preseason games, Crowder caught six passes for 67 yards on eight targets.
