He’s probably competing with Eric Shelton and Alex Haynes for Carolina’s final RB roster spot. Shelton would be the most valuable for fantasy.

He came on during garbage time for Kevan Barlow and looked solid. We suggest Barlow owners pick him up for insurance purposes.

Robertson busted off a 40-yarder in the game, and scored on a 6-yard run.

The 49ers gave Robertson a chance to replace Kevan Barlow in the second half today. But he fumbled twice in one series and was yanked.

His fumbling problems were ridiculous. They’ll probably put him on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The former 49er has plenty of talent, but a fumbling problem. With three running backs on IR and Joey Harris injured, Robertson could prove valuable down the stretch for the Panthers. We wouldn’t count on it, but he’s worth grabbing in deep leagues to find out.

It’s interesting they are keeping Robertson. With Stephen Davis, DeShaun Foster,Nick Goings, and Rod Smart already under contract, they simply have a ton of running backs. It makes one wonder if Davis will come actually come back.

Robertson’s highlights included a 24-yard run and a key block on Efrem Hill’s game-winning touchdown catch. He’s averaging 6.7 yards this preseason and is competing with Rod Smith for a role on the return team. With Foster, Shelton, Davis and Goings, it’s unlikely he’ll get many touches at running back.
