    Chargers released QB Taylor Heinicke.
The Chargers had re-signed Heinicke this offseason, but choose to keep Trey Lance as the primary backup quarterback. The team also released CB Harrison Hand, S Tony Jefferson, LB Kana’i Mauga, RB Nyheim Miller-Hines, LB Del’Shawn Phillips, WR Jalen Reagor, and OT David Sharpe. They also waived G Karsen Barnhart, CB Trikweze Bridges, WR Dalevon Campbell, DL TeRah Edwards, WR Luke Grimm, LB Kylan Guidry, DL Christopher Hinton, WR JaQuae Jackson, LB Emany Johnson, G Nash Jone, C Josh Kaltenberge, TE Stevo Klotz, LB Tre’Mon Morris-Brash, OT Ryan Nelson, CB Myles Purchase, OLB Garmon Randolph, WR Brenden Rice, RB Raheim Sanders, CB Nehemiah Shelton, DL Nesta Jade Silvera, OT Corey Stewart, OG Branson Taylor, QB DJ Uiagalelei, RB Kimani Vidal and TE Thomas Yassmin.

The Athletic’s Daniel Popper reports Chargers training camp featured “significant movement” among the receivers on Wednesday.
First up in Popper’s report was Quentin Johnston, whose ball-tracking “looked vastly improved.” However, he dropped a wide-open pass over the middle in Day 6 of camp on Wednesday and his confidence “seemed to have dissipated.” This is on par with what we have seen throughout Johnston’s career, though Popper believes the 23-year-old was better through the first five practices of camp. Jalen Reagor was reportedly running with the first-team offense before sitting out Wednesday with a hamstring issue. Rookies Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert-Smith capitalized on the increased opportunities as a result. Reagor running with the first-team offense is notable, though Harris looks to overtake him as he adjusts to the playbook as a rookie. Ultimately, Johnston is still slated to be one of the outside starters as the depth chart behind Ladd McConkey shapes up.

    Chargers re-signed WR Jalen Reagor.
The contract details haven’t been reported yet but it’s presumably a one-year deal for Reagor. The former first-round pick signed to the Bolts’ practice squad a few weeks into the 2024 season and was eventually called up midseason. He appeared in eight games and recorded seven catches for 100 yards. Reagor will be a depth option and a special teamer if he makes the Chargers’ 53-man roster this year.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #87
Chargers placed WR Simi Fehoko on injured reserve.
The team signed Jalen Reagor to their active roster in a corresponding move. Reagor and DJ Chark will serve as depth options in the Chargers’ receiving rotation. Chark was activated from injured reserve last week but did not suit up on Sunday.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #89
Jalen Reagor caught his only target for 41 yards and committed a fumble in the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.
Reagor snuck free behind the Arizona defense in the first quarter for a 41-yard gain down the left hash but was chased down from behind and lost a fumble at the Arizona three yard line. That play would set the tone of the game for both teams, with the Cardinals holding the Chargers out of the end zone and forcing five field goals. Reagor remains a fantasy long shot moving forward.
  • LAC Wide Receiver #83
Chargers signed WR Jalen Reagor to the practice squad.
The former first-round wide receiver has failed to carve out a significant role with three different franchises during his four-year NFL career, landing now in a rather talent-deprived wide receiver room with the Chargers. The team hosted him for a visit on Monday and signed him to the practice squad the same day. He’ll at least have a chance to earn his way onto the active game-day roster in the near future.
  • Wide Receiver #83
Free agent WR Jalen Reagor is visiting the Rams on Tuesday.
Los Angeles’ WR depth has been tested with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua both down, and the Rams decided to see what Reagor could put on the field in response. Reagor played for the Patriots last season, amassing a 7/138/0 line over 11 games, but released him from the practice squad last week. It sure seems likely he would have more opportunity on the Rams practice squad as things currently stand.
  • NE Wide Receiver #83
The Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed reports the Patriots have released Jalen Reagor.
The former first-round pick is without a team again after failing to stick with the Pats’ 53-man roster after camp. Reagor once again found himself in another crowded receiver room that no longer needed his services. He leaves the team having caught seven receptions for 138 yards during his tenure in New England.
  • NE Wide Receiver #83
Patriots agreed to terms with WR Jalen Reagor on a one-year contract.
Reagor earned a part-time role in the Patriots’ offense after they lost numerous wideouts to injuries. He only caught seven passes for 138 yards but also pitched in on special teams. That included taking a kickoff to the house in Week 17 versus the Bills. Though he will never shed the first-round bust moniker, Reagor appears to have carved out a role in New England as a depth receiver and special teams contributor.
  • NE Wide Receiver #83
Jalen Reagor caught 1-of-6 targets for 33 yards in the Patriots’ Week 18 loss to the Jets.
Eagles and Vikings castoff Reagor ended up catching seven passes in 11 Patriots appearances. He contributed a few nice plays on special teams, but 25-year-old Reagor isn’t going to be a priority for the Pats’ post-Bill Belichick brain trust.
