Cowboys signed Fresno State WR Jalen Moreno-Cropper.
Operating primarily from the slot from 2020 to 2021, Moreno-Cropper (5’11/172) played almost exclusively as an outside receiver in 2022. Regardless of where he lined up, his receiving lines and efficiency numbers remained largely the same over the last two seasons. His size and ability to create after the catch profile Moreno-Cropper as more of a slot receiver, as he uses good field awareness and acceleration to separate himself from pursuing defenders. There’s plenty of room for Moreno-Cropper to improve as a receiver. With 17 career drops and a contested catch rate of 30 percent, it’s safe to say he does little in the way of challenging defenders for the ball. His versatility as a runner (46-454-5) will intrigue some coaches, although most of rushing production came as a freshman.
