Bills placed Jake Kumerow (ankle) on injured reserve.
He’ll miss at least the next four weeks. Kumerow already missed a big chunk of time earlier this season with an ankle injury, then either suffered a new one or re-aggravated the old one in Week 10. We don’t think any of you were holding on to hope in fantasy leagues, but if you were, this looks likely to be the end of the line for him this year.

Jake Kumerow (ankle) left Week 10’s game against the Vikings and did not return.
He was quickly ruled out. Kumerow missed several weeks with an ankle injury earlier this season, but it’s not currently known if the injury is an aggravation or not.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Jake Kumerow (ankle) will not play in Week 5’s game against the Steelers.
He wasn’t close to practicing all week and now has missed six consecutive practices. The Bills haven’t placed the backup outside wideout and special-teamer on injured reserve yet, but he’s quickly closing in on the amount of weeks he would have been mandated to miss on it. There is no positive trendline yet for Week 6.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Jake Kumerow (ankle) did not practice Thursday.
He has not practiced for five-straight sessions since injuring his ankle in Week 3. Kumerow will likely continue to sit this weekend at this point. Gabe Davis and Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) will be the main supporting weapons for Josh Allen this weekend against the Steelers.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Jake Kumerow (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Kumerow missed Week 4 after playing just five snaps in Week 3. With Jamison Crowder (ankle) out and Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) DNP, Kumerow could be seeing an increased offensive role after filling in for Gabe Davis on 78% of the Week 2 snaps. Kumerow, of course, needs to get healthy himself.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Jake Kumerow (knee) won’t play in Week 4 against the Ravens.
Kumerow is typically a non-factor for Buffalo but is the team’s replacement for Gabe Davis, who is questionable with an ankle issue this week. He ran 36 routes with Davis sidelined in Week 2. Khalil Shakir would be in line for some extra steps if Davis can’t play this week.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Jake Kumerow (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.
Kumerow has already been referred to as week to week, so it’s safe to rule him out for Week 4. He was rotating in as Buffalo’s WR4 versus the Dolphins but was quickly knocked out by the ankle injury. Jamison Crowder will take the field for four-receiver sets this week.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Bills WR Jake Kumerow is week to week with a high-ankle sprain.
Kumerow was knocked from the second quarter of Sunday’s game after taking a helmet to his leg. Kumerow caught two passes for 14 yards on the day and logged 50 yards in Week 2 with Gabe Davis sidelined. Nothing more than a valuable depth piece in Buffalo’s offense, Kumerow’s loss is more impactful for reality football than it is fantasy.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Bills WR Jake Kumerow was forced from Buffalo’s Week 3 game against the Dolphins with a left ankle injury and will not return.
Kumerow took a helmet to his leg following a second quarter reception. Playing a surprising amount of snaps so far this season, Kumerow had two grabs for 14 yards before departing. It had the looks of a potential high-ankle sprain.

  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Bills re-signed WR Jake Kumerow to a one-year deal.
Starting slot receiver Cole Beasley has been given permission to seek a trade, and emerging slot receiver Isaiah McKenzie is set to hit free agency. Given McKenzie’s strong play on special teams, he could attract interest on the open market. That leaves the Bills potentially thin at wide receiver, particularly in the slot. Given the Bills’ heavy use of three and four wide receiver sets, depth at the slot position is important. Kumerow will likely play ahead of Isaiah Hodgins, who is also a fit for the slot. Hodgins was the Bills’ sixth-round pick in 2020 but has spent most of his career on injured reserve or the practice squad. Still, Kumerow is ultimately unlikely to start for the Bills. Even if they trade Beasley, they would likely be looking for a wide receiver in free agency or the draft. However, a path is starting to emerge for him to play meaningful snaps in a Josh Allen offense.
