Browns activated LB Mohamoud Diabate, DT Mike Hall Jr. and DT Maurice Hurst II.
Cleveland made a slew of roster moves. The Browns also placed T James Hudson III (shoulder) on IR, released WR James Proche II, and elevated S Chris Edmonds and WR Jaelon Darden from the practice squad for Week 6’s matchup with the Eagles.
  • CLE Wide Receiver #16
Browns signed WR Jaelon Darden to the active roster and elevated CB Mike Ford Jr. and OT Germain Ifedi from the practice squad.
Darden is a former fourth round pick by the Buccaneers in the 2021 NFL Draft. He’ll take the open roster spot the Browns had after waiving David Bell earlier this week. Darden is an additional weapon in the return game for Cleveland while Ford Jr. and Ifedi are depth pieces.
  • FA Wide Receiver #16
Browns waived/released WR Jaelon Darden, DT Jowon Briggs, WR Ahmarean Brown, S Christopher Edmonds, DT Siaki Ika, DT Sam Kamara, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, LB Winston Reid, OT Lorenzo Thompson, TE Treyton Welch, WR Michael Woods, CB Tony Brown, RB D’Onta Foreman, CB Justin Hardee, OT Germain Ifedi and WR James Proche.
It’s a quiet list, with Foreman’s release being purely procedural.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #10
Browns placed Anthony Schwartz (concussion) on injured reserve.
The team was awarded Jaelon Darden off waivers, prompting them to put Schwartz on injured reserve to get an extra roster spot. Darden was waived by the Bucs earlier this week. He will likely take over Schwartz’s role on special teams.

  • SEA Wide Receiver #1
    Buccaneers waived WR Jaelon Darden.
The 2021 fourth-rounder has played just 146 offensive snaps over the past two years despite Tampa’s wideout situation being extremely injury-riddled in both years. He also offers kick return ability and between that and his early draft reports we wouldn’t be surprised if another team claimed him to kick the tires.

  • SEA Wide Receiver #1
Bucs WR Jaelon Darden (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of the team’s Divisional Round game against the Rams.
With Darden out and Tyler Johnson questionable due to a rib injury, John Brown is now the team’s third receiver. The Bucs only have three healthy receivers left in this game. Giovani Bernard will be the primary punt returner because of the Darden injury.

  • SEA Wide Receiver #1
Buccaneers declared WR Jaelon Darden, DL Steve McLendon, QB Kyle Trask; and S Jordan Whitehead inactive for Week 13 against the Falcons.
Tampa Bay will have cornerbacks Jamel Dean, Carlton Davis, and Sean Murphy-Bunting available together for the first time since the opening quarter of Week 1. With Darden inactive due to a concussion, the team could also opt to use Scotty Miller on punt returns and Giovani Bernard on kickoffs.

  • Wide Receiver #17
    Bucs released KR Jaydon Mickens.
Mickens was the Bucs’ primary returner on both punts and kickoffs but he didn’t offer any utility on offense. Rookie receiver Jaelon Darden will take on those duties with Mickens no longer around.

  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Buccaneers placed WR Scotty Miller (turf toe) on injured reserve.
If Antonio Brown misses Week 4, the Buccaneers with be down to Tyler Johnson and Jaelon Darden as their third and fourth wide receivers. Johnson is a capable third option, who would be a viable fantasy dart throw. Tampa Bay also has very good tight end depth. Miller will provide the Buccaneers with deep threat depth when he returns. He is first eligible to return for the Buccaneers Week 7 game against Chicago.

  • KC Wide Receiver #84
The Athletic’s Greg Auman wrote that Justin Watson is “squarely on the bubble in a deep receiving room.”
Watson is entering his fourth NFL season after being selected in the fifth round out of Pennsylvania. As a prospect, Watson combined very strong college production with a 6'2" 215 pound frame, a 4.44 40 and a 40 inch vertical. His timed athleticism and Ivy League production have yet to fully translate to the NFL game, however. Watson has a career yards per route run of just 0.97 and was limited mostly to special teams last season. 2021 fourth round WR Jaelon Darden is impressing in his bid to become Tampa Bay’s starting punt returner. With Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson firmly ahead of him in the receiving pecking order, Watson will need to have a strong training camp to secure a roster spot.
