Cardinals placed RT Jonah Williams (knee) and LT Paris Johnson (knee) on injured reserve.
Both players are done for 2024. They signed Jackson Barton off the practice squad in a corresponding move. Johnson had an extremely successful sophomore season, finishing with a 80.8 PFF grade and should be Arizona’s blindside tackle in 2025. Williams played just 343 snaps while dealing with injuries and will be on the final year of a two-year, $30 million deal he signed with the Cardinals last offseason. It’s possible the Cardinals could cut Williams after an injury-plagued season, but they’d only free up a little over $3 million in cap space if they did so the normal way. Kyler Murray’s line will be in rough shape for Weeks 17 and 18.

    Raiders waived OL Jackson Barton.
Barton was limited to special teams in his two appearances with the Raiders this season. The 2019 seventh-round pick is likely to be signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Raiders re-signed OT Jackson Barton to a one-year contract.
Barton, a seventh round draft pick by the Colts in 2019, was slated to be a restricted free agent when free agency began. The Raiders lock him up for 2022 after he missed most of the 2021 season.

Colts selected Utah OT Jackson Barton with the No. 240 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
An honorable mention All-Pac-12 interior defender for the Utes, Barton was drafted and announced as an offensive tackle in the seventh round Saturday. Indy’s practice squad is a likely destination in his first year given his lack of leverage and inability to protect from inside moves and rush counters.

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein writes that Utah T Jackson Barton’s “poor pad level coupled with his height is a combination that will be difficult to survive (anywhere on the pro line).”
“He’s tough and has adequate strength to battle for position as a run blocker, but NFL opponents are sure to take advantage of his lack of leverage and his issues against inside moves and rush counters,” Zierlein notes of the 6-foot-7, 310-pound Barton. Helping matters none, the Utah product’s combine was a less-than-sparkly one, with Barton posting a composite SPARQ score landing him in just the 31st percentile of NFL offensive linemen.

Utah senior T Jackson Barton accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.
Barton will have some friendly -- at least we assume friendly -- company playing in the event with him, as his brother, Jeff, also accepted an invitation to the event as as a linebacker. Barton has played both left and right tackle for the Utes, and has been a solid -- if not spectacular -- performer for the Pac-12 South champions. He’ll likely get looks at both positions, but he profiles best as a right tackle at the next level.
