Browns selected Missouri EDGE Isaiah McGuire with the No. 126 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
McGuire (6’4/268) was lightly recruited and accepted his lone Power Five overture from Missouri, a decision which worked out quite well for the Tigers. The Tulsa, OK native took a couple of years to hit his stride but contributed 27.0 TFL and 13.5 sacks over his last two seasons while earning a Second Team All-SEC nod. While McGuire’s pass rush catalog isn’t the most eclectic, he chalked up a 17.6% true pass rush win rate that ranked 14th in the Power Five this year. His hand swipes and lower body torque allow the team captain to drive opponents backward and disengage. McGuire’s crisp get-off is illustrated in his S-tier 1.59s 10-yard split (95th%) to go with a 90th+ percentile vertical (36.5”) and broad (10’02’) jumps. His sensational 9.52 RAS is the fifth-highest mark in the class, as McGuire has built himself into an NFL-worthy edge player. With the raw power to stack and shed opponents in both phases of the game, McGuire should be able to carve out reps in the league as a 4-3 base edge.
