Nick Roach would stay because he’s cheap and outplayed Hillenmeyer last season. Hillenmeyer is due $1.5 million and could be a cap casualty.

He was already plummeting down the depth chart, and this won’t help. It also helps explain Chicago’s interest in free agent Pisa Tinoisamoa. If Pisa signs, Hillenmeyer isn’t good enough on special teams to keep a roster spot.
