Falcons WR Harry Douglas suffered a concussion in the team’s Week 1 loss to Chicago.
Douglas didn’t practice on Wednesday and will need to pass tests to be active for Week 2 against the Eagles. The Falcons’ slot receiver finished the regular season opener with just 10 yards on two receptions, seeing four targets.

Playing just one week after suffering a concussion, Harry Douglas made two catches for 19 yards in Sunday’s win over the Eagles.
His two catches were his only two targets of the evening. With the Falcons’ revamped passing attack off to a slow start this season, Douglas isn’t currently worth rostering outside of deeper PPR leagues.

Coming off a zero-target performance, Harry Douglas caught two passes for 16 yards on five looks in Sunday’s loss to the Packers.
With just 11 catches for 80 yards through the season’s first five weeks, Douglas can be safely left on the waiver wire.

Coach Mike Smith said he doesn’t know if Julio Jones (hamstring) will be able to play in Sunday’s game against the Panthers.
Jones will not practice on Wednesday after pulling up lame during the third quarter of last Sunday’s loss to the Packers. Smith said they’ll see where Jones is at on Thursday and Friday, but it doesn’t sound good considering the rookie couldn’t return to last week’s game. If Jones can’t go, Harry Douglas would slide into the No. 2 receiver role.

Coach Mike Smith said Dominique Franks and Harry Douglas are candidates to replace Eric Weems as the Falcons’ punt returner.
Weems, rated a top-five returner by Pro Football Focus three years in a row, signed with Chicago in March. Douglas’ priority is manning the slot on offense, but that’s not an every-down job. He hasn’t returned a punt, however, since 2008. Franks is buried on the cornerback depth chart and returned just one punt in 2011.

XTRA 910 Phoenix’s Mike Jurecki believes the Cardinals may target Harry Douglas as an “underrated free agent.”
Douglas has created almost zero buzz this offseason, but that should soon change with the receiver market being gutted by extensions and franchise tags. The Cardinals will only pursue Douglas if in-house free agent Early Doucet gets too expensive on the open market.

Falcons agreed to terms with WR Harry Douglas to a four-year contract.
Douglas will remain in the slot after posting a career-best line of 39/498/1 in 2011. Despite the 2011 pre-season hype, he remains a non-factor in fantasy terms and a role player in Atlanta. Douglas’ signing should quiet speculation that Hines Ward, raised in the Atlanta area, would appeal to the Falcons.

Impending free agent Harry Douglas managed one reception for seven yards in Atlanta’s Wild Card round loss to the Giants.
Douglas’ monster preseason never did carry over into real games, as the 27-year-old slot receiver finished with a 39/498/1 line. Douglas will likely be disappointed if he attempts to scour the open market for a starting job. The former Louisville Cardinal has revealed himself as a slot-receiver only.

Coach Mike Smith admitted that the Falcons will exercise caution with Julio Jones’ latest hamstring injury.
Jones did not practice on Wednesday due to a right hamstring pull sustained in Week 10. He missed Weeks 6 and 7 due to a left hamstring pull. “We have to make sure we make the right decision for putting a player back out on the field for a short-term goal and hurt us for a long-term goal,” Smith said when asked about Jones. Harry Douglas will start if Jones is held out.

Harry Douglas (thigh) was limited in Falcons practice Wednesday.
The injury isn’t known to be a concern. Douglas could get a start in Week 11 if Julio Jones (hamstrings) can’t play. Atlanta hosts Tennessee this week.
