Florida State senior S Hamsah Nasilrideen accepted and invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Nasilrideen (6'4/200) would likely have been a high selection last year if he declared for the draft, but he tore his ACL in November and opted to return in order to show teams that he’s healthy. He projects as a box safety who is very strong in run support and rarely misses a tackle opportunity. The rangy safety has trouble keeping up with speedy receivers, but locks down Tight ends thanks to his length and physical strength. Nasilrideen was mocked at number 39 in a recent CBS draft run through and is firmly in the Day 1- Day 2 conversation.

    Jaiden Lars-Woodbey
    BC
Florida State redshirt sophomore DB Jaiden Lars-Woodbey is listed as a co-started ahead of Saturday’s game vs. Louisville.
Lars-Woodbey (6'1/225) has been a fixture in the starting lineup at BUCK safety due to the absence of senior Hamsah Nasirildeen, who’s still recovering from the torn ACL that he suffered last November. Over the last couple weeks there has been hope that Nasirildeen would be able to return, but he has not been able to do so. So unless something changes on that front Lars-Woodbey will once again receive the starting nod. For the season he has accounted for 21 total tackles (11 solo, 1.5 for loss), one pass breakup, one pass defensed and one quarterback hurry.

Florida State senior S Hamsah Nasilrideen has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. North Carolina due to a lingering knee injury.
Nasilrideen (6'4/200) continues to recover from the surgery that he underwent to repair a torn ACL last November, and it is unknown when he’ll be cleared for a full return. Jaiden Lars-Woodbey will make another start at BUCK safety due to the senior’s absence.

  • Linebacker #45
Florida State senior S Hamsah Nasirildeen (knee) has returned to the depth chart after being sidelined for the Seminoles’ loss to Georgia Tech.
The return of Nasirildeen (6'4/220) gives the Seminoles a welcome boost in the experience and talent departments as they prepare for Saturday’s game against Miami. The senior safety is listed as a co-starter at the BUCK position, with redshirt sophomore Jaiden Lars-Woodbey being the other option.

  • Linebacker #45
Florida State senior S Hamsah Nasirildeen is considered to be day-to-day as he works his way back from a knee injury.
Nasirildeen (6'4/200), the most talented member of Florida State’s secondary, has yet to appear in a game this season as he continues to recover from the ACL tear that he suffered last November. While the senior safety continues to make progress in his recovery and has been listed on recent depth charts, he still isn’t 100 percent. Jaiden Lars-Woodbey will likely make another start at BUCK safety on Saturday when the Seminoles visit North Carolina.

  • Linebacker #45
Florida State senior S Hamsah Nasirildeen (knee) is expected to miss the team’s opener against Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Nasirildeen (6'4/220) initially tore his left ACL facing off with the rival Gators last November. That the standout safety is still recovering from that injury is a little concerning, simply given that these kinds of injuries generally take about six months to heal. Nasirildeen is now over nine months removed from the initial tear. And FSU HC Mike Norvell did little to reassure the Seminoles faithful, speaking only in vagary about how he was “very hopeful” that his preseason All-ACC stalwart would be back in action in the “very near future.” Look for Renardo Green or Travis Jay to step up starting in Nasirildeen’s place on Saturday. The senior is one of the top draft-eligible safeties in the class and you can expect the NFL to give that knee a very, very close look come the spring.

  • Linebacker #45
Chris Hummer of 247Sports ranks Florida State senior S Hamsah Nasirildeen among the most versatile players for the 2020 football season.
Nasirildeen has played all over the field for the Seminoles, as Hummer notes. "...here’s a quick rundown of how Nasirildeen’s positional alignment has gone per snap since he arrived at FSU: Free safety (631), strong safety (316), slot cornerback (307), inside linebacker (242),” he writes. He took a big step forward in coverage last year -- as Hummer also notes -- and he’s been stout against the run in his two years with Florida State. That versatility has Nasirildeen ranking high on draft analyst lists to begin the year, and he might be one of the first safeties -- or possibly linebackers -- off the board come next April if he gives up his senior season.

Florida State junior S Hamsah Nasilrildeen was carted off the field during the first half of Saturday’s game at Florida after suffering a gruesome leg injury.
Nasilrildeen (6'4/215) has been one of Florida State’s best defenders this season, and the injury occurred just a short time after he hit the 100 total tackles mark for the season. With the junior safety out, Florida State has turned to Levonta Taylor to fill the void. Nasilrildeen was ranked fourth among draft-eligible ACC players by Pro Football Network’s Neal Driscoll earlier this month.

247Sports’ Brendan Sonnone reports Florida State junior S Hamsah Nasirildeen will play closer to the line of scrimmage.
Nasirildeen (6'4/215) led Florida State in tackles last year, but he was a liability in pass coverage. To put him into a position of strength, Nasirildeen will play the “Star” role which keeps him in the hunt to make tackles instead of lining up in coverage. If he can put out a good showing as a junior in this role, he’ll be on the NFL’s radar but his pass-coverage limitations put a theoretical ceiling on his stock.
  • Linebacker #45
FSU sophomore S Hamsah Nasirildeen was ejected for targeting in the first half of Saturday’s game against Clemson.
Deservedly so, as Nasirildeen launched for a head shot on Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence and then wouldn’t let Lawrence get up off the turf. The bad news for the Seminoles: Nasirildeen has been banished to the locker room and his day is over. The good: Since this penalty occurred in the first half, Nasirildeen will only miss the remainder of a game FSU wasn’t going to win anyway (as opposed to the first half of next week’s game against NCSU).
