Browns signed OT Geron Christian off the Rams’ practice squad.
He’ll replace Dawand Jones on the active roster. Christian has been a vagabond since being drafted by Washington in 2018, playing with the Texans, Chiefs, and Browns. He was with the Titans in training camp and has gone back-and-forth between the Browns and Rams in-season. He’ll provide veteran tackle play for the Browns should Jedrick Wills remain out.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #10
Rams declared WR Cooper Kupp, QB Stetson Bennett, RB Cody Schrader, LB Brennan Jackson, T Geron Christian Sr. and TE Davis Allen inactive for Week 3 against the 49ers.
Kupp’s absence was expected, given his projected multi-week recovery timeline. The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue notes “Jimmy [Garoppolo] back in the backup spot at QB after his two-game suspension.” The Rams are exceptionally short-staffed with Puka Nacua also on injured reserve. They will likely try to eke out a win through a run-heavy offensive attack.
  • TEN Tackle #64
Titans signed OT Geron Christian, formerly of the Browns.
Christian began 2023 with the Dolphins but was cut at the end of training camp. He had a cup of coffee in Houston and then found a more permanent home in Cleveland. Including the Wild Card Round, Christian started 10 games for the Browns, all at left tackle. He gave up five sacks and 39 pressures. He is following offensive line coach Bill Callahan from Cleveland to Tennessee. Christian will be competing for a backup job in training camp.
  • MIA Tackle #78
    Dolphins waived OT Geron Christian.
The Fins signed Christian to a one-year deal earlier this offseason, but he won’t be making the 53-man roster. A five-year veteran with 48 NFL games under his belt, Christian could catch on as another team in need of offensive line help. Christian has started 16 games in his career and can play both tackle positions.
  • CLE Tackle #72
    Dolphins re-signed T Geron Christian to a one-year, $1.08 million contract.
Christian was claimed by the Dolphins from Kansas City at the end of the 2022 season and has now been given another year in Miami. He has started 16 games and appeared in 48 over a five-year NFL career. Expect Christian to serve as depth at tackle on a “prove it” deal with only $200,000 fully guaranteed.

  • CLE Tackle #72
Dolphins claimed OT Geron Christian off waivers from Kansas City.
In a related move, they put Eric Fisher on injured reserve. Miami’s tackle depth has been tested often this year as Terron Armstead is currently carrying four different injury designations and Austin Jackson has spent most of the year on injured reserve. Christian will join the tackle depth behind Greg Little and Brandon Shell with Fisher hurt and Kendall Lamm also leaving last week’s game.

  • CLE Tackle #72
Chiefs signed T Geron Christian, formerly of the Texans, to an undisclosed contract.
Christian has been a decent pass-protector over his first four seasons, and saw a career-high 588 snaps with the Texans in 2021 as Laremy Tunsil’s backup. With Lucas Niang coming off a torn patellar tendon in Week 17, Christian will be a depth option for the Chiefs.

  • CLE Tackle #72
Texans claimed OT Geron Christian off waivers from Washington.
Christian started six games at left tackle for Washington last year before landing on injured reserve with a knee injury. Albeit a replacement-level player, he’ll likely compete from day one to start among Houston’s barren trenches. Christian turns 25 in September.

  • CLE Tackle #72
Washington Football Team waived OT Geron Christian.
It’s a somewhat surprising move, as the 2018 third-rounder was still on his rookie contract. Christian started six games at left tackle last season before landing on injured reserve with a knee injury. He was replacement-level in Trent Williams’ place, so hardly a cure-all but not someone you would expect to get waived the following spring. With longtime RT Morgan Moses also shown the door, the Football Team is completely remaking its tackle group. Free agent addition Charles Leno and second-rounder Samuel Cosmi are the favorites to start.

  • CLE Tackle #72
Washington placed OT Geron Christian (knee) on injured reserve.
It’s the worst possible time for Christian to be sidelined as Washington also lost LT Cornelius Lucas (ankle, week-to-week) in Week 10. It’s possible coach Ron Rivera slides Morgan Moses to left tackle in the interim with David Sharpe taking over on the right side.
