Browns hosted free agent TE Irv Smith Jr. for a visit.
The Browns also hosted free agent tight ends Tommy Sweeney and Geoff Swaim for visits. David Njoku suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 and the visits suggest Cleveland expects him to miss some time. He is currently considered week-to-week. Smith was most recently cut by the Chiefs. Despite his second-round pedigree, Smith has failed to make much of an impact in the NFL. He would not be a fantasy option if he signs with Cleveland.
  • ARI Center #60
Cardinals signed C Pat Elflein, formerly of the Panthers.
Elflein was a cap casualty of the Panthers earlier this offseason, as the team opted to cut ties with him to save $4.2 million in cap space. Elflein ended last season on injured reserve after having surgery on his hip. He could earn a starting role on a Cardinals roster that’s already thin at multiple spots. The Cardinals also inked tight end Geoff Swain to a deal.
  • CLE Tight End #84
Titans re-signed TE Geoff Swaim to a one-year contract.
Swaim caught 31 of his 40 targets for 210 yards and three touchdowns in limited pass-catching usage in 2021. He has occasional streaming appeal in deeper formats when the Titans struggle with tight end injuries.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Geoff Swaim caught 3-of-4 targets for 45 yards in the Titans’ Week 14 win over the Jaguars.
Swaim’s 45 yards led the Titans. Anthony Firkser had four catches for 34 yards in his own right, but Titans coach Mike Vrabel referred to him as a special teamer last week, so Swaim’s position as TE1 isn’t in question. Despite that, he’s off the fantasy radar in 1-TE leagues, especially with a matchup against a decent Steelers defense on tap in Week 15.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Geoff Swaim caught an eight-yard pass in the Titans’ Week 12 loss to the Patriots.
Targeted on the third play of the game, Swaim never drew another look as the Titans went run heavy. Swaim will be off the TE2 radar when the Titans return from bye in Week 14 against the Jaguars.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Titans TE Geoff Swaim (concussion) is active for Week 12 against the Patriots.
Swaim is one of the few Titans actually healthy enough to play this week after missing Week 11. With the Titans positively desperate for reliable places to funnel looks, Swaim could actually see a decent amount of targets, but not enough to make him a compelling TE2. Inactive for the Titans are RB Jeremy McNichols, OG Nate Davis, CB Greg Mabin, LB David Long, LB Rashaan Evans, DL Teair Tart and DL Ola Adeniyi.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Titans TE Geoff Swaim (concussion) is questionable for Week 12 against the Patriots.
Swaim practiced fully after sitting out last week. Barring a setback, he should return to the starting lineup on Sunday. Anthony Firkser, who posted a 5/26/1 line on seven targets with Swaim sidelined in Week 11, won’t be a streaming option if Swaim gets cleared.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Geoff Swaim (concussion) has resumed practicing in full.
Swaim will be out for the target-desperate Titans against the Patriots after missing Week 11. Swaim had been operating as the Titans’ primary seam-stretching pass catcher ahead of Anthony Firkser before going down. We assume that will remain the case upon his return.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Titans TE Geoff Swaim (concussion) is out for Week 11 against the Texans.
Swaim had caught four passes in three straight games, so it is a minor blow in TE-premium leagues, especially with a pillow-soft matchup in the Texans on deck. It is also a legitimate loss for the Titans’ targets-needy offense. Fellow seam stretchers Anthony Firkser and MyCole Pruitt will probably split looks in Swaim’s absence.

  • CLE Tight End #84
Geoff Swaim caught 4-of-5 targets for 23 yards and a touchdown in the Titans’ Week 8 overtime win over the Colts.
Both Swaim and MyCole Pruitt out-produced Anthony Firkser, who has been DOA in fantasy this year. Of course, coming into this afternoon, Swaim had seven catches all year. This tight end group is not going to produce value, re-draft, DFS, or otherwise.
