Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Gabe Davis (meniscus) is out for the season.
Davis ends his first year in Jacksonville with nine starts, 20 catches, and 239 yards with two scores. He played at least 69 percent of the snaps in every game he finished and never had more than five catches in any game, settling for a one-catch game on four separate occasions. For the privilege, Davis got a $10 million signing bonus. One of Trent Baalke’s greatest follies yet — and that’s saying something — Davis will almost undoubtedly be brought back on a $6.7 million cap figure next year since cutting him would cost the Jaguars $13.6 million in cap space. In his absence, look for Tim Jones and Devin Duvernay to get more run. No Jaguars are truly fantasy viable while Mac Jones is leading the charge.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Jaguars believe Gabe Davis suffered a torn meniscus in Week 11’s loss to the Lions.
According to Rapoport, the Jaguars are “still assessing the injury, but Davis expected to have the surgery.” During his surgery, doctors will determine the severity of Davis’ injury and whether or not he needs a full repair or a trim of the meniscus. If he undergoes a full repair, Davis’ season would be over. His first year in Jacksonville has been underwhelming. Davis has caught 20 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns, and topped out at 63 receiving yards in Week 1. We’ll know more about his injury in the coming days and provide an update when we have one.

Gabe Davis suffered a knee injury in Week 11 against the Lions and will not return.
Davis went down with a non-contact knee injury in the third quarter and was ruled out almost immediately. The Jags were well into garbage time when Davis went down, but that doesn’t appear to be why he is done for the day. The Jaguars are on bye next week, giving Davis an extra week of rest if the injury isn’t a long-term issue. Tim Jones and Parker Washington will see more work in his absence.

Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 11 against the Lions.
The same is true of Gabe Davis, who is playing through a shoulder injury. Davis is not on the fantasy radar with Mac Jones under center. Thomas only caught two passes for 12 yards in Jones’s first start. Things should turn around as the Jags go from facing an ironclad Minnesota defense to a more manageable matchup with the Lions. Still, it’s hard to trust BTJ as anything other than a WR3 without Trevor Lawrence on the sticks.

Gabe Davis (shoulder) was limited on Thursday.
While Davis is technically dealing with a shoulder injury, we expect him to suit up after repeatedly practicing in a limited capacity, as is standard with the Jaguars. The volatile downfield wide receiver is not a recommended start with Mac Jones under center.

Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Thomas was limited in all three practices last week and played through his questionable tag on Sunday. The same was true of Gabe Davis, who remained limited in today’s practice because of a lingering shoulder issue. Both players are expected to suit up again this week. Trevor Lawrence has already been ruled out, meaning Mac Jones will make his second start. Without Lawrence to pepper him with deep shots, Thomas is at risk of falling out of the WR3 ranks this week.

Gabe Davis caught 1-of-4 targets for 19 yards in the Jaguars’ Week 10 loss to the Vikings.
Active for the first time since Week 7, Davis couldn’t take advantage of Christian Kirk’s absence to command greater volume. Of course, backup QB Mac Jones facing the Vikings’ elite pass defense had something to do with that. The ball Davis did grab ended up at the Vikings’ one-yard line. Jones snuck the ball into the end zone a few plays later. Davis will be outside the top 60/WR5 range for Week 11 vs. the Lions, especially if Jones is forced to make another start in place of Trevor Lawrence (shoulder).

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Gabe Davis (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 10 against the Vikings.
Davis missed Week 9 with the shoulder issue. He practiced in a limited capacity throughout the week and is ready to return today. With Mac Jones taking Trevor Lawrence’s place in the lineup, any hopes of the one-off big play from Davis this week can be thrown out the window.

Gabe Davis (shoulder) is questionable for Week 10 against the Vikings.
He was limited in practice throughout the week after missing Week 9 with the shoulder issue. Davis wasn’t doing much with Trevor Lawrence on the field and will likely be catching passes from Mac Jones if he plays at all this week. Fantasy managers can forget about Davis for the foreseeable future.

Gabe Davis (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Davis was limited in all three Week 9 practices but ultimately ruled inactive so today’s limited participation cannot be interpreted positively or negatively. This team regularly lists its players as such so it is necessary to seek out actionable reports. He would be a volatile WR5 if active.
