The Titans are expected to release veteran right tackle Fred Miller this week.
His cap number was $9.32 million next season, so it wasn’t a hard decision. They will keep Brad Hopkins. Miller will be one of the few starter-ready tackles available this offseason.

He’ll find a starting job elsewhere with ease. Buffalo, Miami, Cleveland, and Jacksonville could be interested.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, RT Fred Miller’s broken jaw was suffered during a fight with C Olin Kreutz.
Miller told the Bears that he suffered the injury during a “household accident” and will miss at least one more game. The Sun Times also reports that Kreutz previously broke a teammates jaw back in 1996 and had to attend anger-management courses. How’d those turn out, Olin?

Former Titans tackle Fred Miller may sign with the Bears today.
The 32-year old has not missed a start since 1998 and still plays at a solid level. He would start at right tackle, with John Tait moving to the left side. On paper, it shores up a huge weakness for the Bears on the edges last season.

Bears signed tackle Fred Miller, formerly of the Bears, to a five-year, $22.5 million contract, including a $6 million signing bonus.
Chicago continues to pay aging veterans above-market prices to fill holes on their team. It’s not a strategy that works very often in the NFL. John Tait will now move to left tackle to make room for Miller.
