Cowboys traded up with the Chiefs to select Southern Miss DB Eric Scott with the No. 178 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs get a 2024 fifth-round pick for the first pick of the sixth round. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein gave Scott a priority free agent grade, and he’ll be a height-weight-speed project for the Cowboys. Scott played three seasons with Southern Mississippi after transferring in from Butler College. He also played some at Southern Illinois. Scott had 12 passes defensed and five picks in three years for the Golden Eagles. The Cowboys hosted Scott on a top-30 visit.
