  • ARI Cornerback #28
Cardinals placed DB Elijah Jones (heel) on injured reserve.
Jones must miss at least the next four games before being eligible for a return. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals added linebacker Krys Barnes to the active roster. The Cardinals used the No. 90 overall pick in this year’s draft on Jones to help bolster a secondary that struggled in its first season under head coach Jonathan Gannon. Jones will be eligible to return in Week 5 when the Cardinals travel to San Francisco to take on the Niners.
  • ARI Cornerback
Cardinals selected Boston College CB Elijah Jones with the No. 90 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Jones (6’1/185) was a First Team All-ACC awardee in 2023, ranking sixth in the nation with five interceptions to go with a sterling 90th% PFF cover grade. The Harlem, NY native has top notch ball skills with 28 pass breakups and seven interceptions over the past two seasons. An aggressive defensive back that makes the receiver work for receptions, Jones allowed a 32.5% reception rate, a microscopic 18.1 passer rating when targeted and just one TD in 2023. Jones has 31.5” arms and thrives in press/man coverage thanks to his suffocating coverage style and blazing 4.44s 40-yard dash recovery speed (86th%) and overall plus athleticism (8.96 RAS). A special teams asset, Jones will be at his most effective in a defense that utilizes press/man concepts.
