Dolphins declared QB Quinn Ewers, DB Elijah Campbell, A.J. Green III, OL Larry Borom, WR Tahj Washington, and DT Matthew Butler inactive for Week 15 against the Steelers.
No real surprises here as the Dolphins look to pick up their fifth consecutive win on Monday Night Football against the Steelers. Numerous key injuries to the Pittsburgh side should allow the Dolphins to continue forward with a ground-heavy attack.
  • MIA Linebacker #25
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said LB Tyrel Dodson (concussion) will not play in Week 6 against the Chargers.
Dodson suffered a brain injury in last week’s loss to the Panthers and will remain in concussion protocol through the weekend. The sixth-year linebacker has started all five games he’s appeared in for the Dolphins this season, totaling 46 tackles, two sacks, and four TFLs while also recording one forced fumble. Linebacker K.J. Britt is listed behind Dodson on the depth chart and will presumably start in his place. In addition to Dodson, the Dolphins have also ruled out S Elijah Campbell (quad).
  • MIA Safety #21
Dolphins S Ashtyn Davis (calf) was limited on Thursday.
Dolphins backup CB Ethan Bonner (hamstring) did not practice and fellow backup DB Elijah Campbell was added to the injury report with a knee injury, suggesting he suffered a new injury in practice. The Dolphins’ secondary was already among the league’s most fantasy-friendly units—but now its depth is in trouble.
  • MIA Cornerback #22
Dolphins re-signed CB Elijah Campbell to a one-year, $1.9 million contract.
The Dolphins will keep Campbell in 2025 after he recorded 11 tackles over 17 games last season, operating mostly as a special teams player. Campbell, 29, who has played for Miami since 2021, should remain a key special-teams cog in 2025.
  • MIA Cornerback #22
Dolphins signed CB Elijah Campbell to a one-year contract.
Campbell will stay with Miami for a fourth consecutive season following a 2023 campaign that saw him register a career-high 15 tackles. Campbell will likely remain a special teams player and a rotational defensive player in 2024.
  • MIA Cornerback #22
Dolphins agreed to terms with restricted free agent CB Elijah Campbell on a one-year contract.
Financial terms are not yet available, but it’s a safe bet Campbell was retained for less than the “low” RFA tender amount of $3.116 million. Otherwise he likely would have been non-tendered. A 28-year-old former undrafted free agent, Campbell appeared in 31 games over the past two seasons but made just two starts. He’s a depth/special teams piece who can contribute on defense in a pinch.
  • MIA Cornerback #22
Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said S Elijah Campbell “sustained a substantial knee injury that will take him into the season.”
The team ruled out an ACL tear following Saturday’s preseason finale but further testing is required to establish a baseline for his return to action. It is likely Campbell will find himself on injured reserve in short order, leaving the Dolphins with yet another blow to their retooled secondary.
  • MIA Cornerback #22
Dolphins S Elijah Campbell was helped off the field during Saturday’s preseason game against the Jaguars and was unable to put weight on his leg.
Campbell was expected to serve as depth in the secondary after the team recently retooled the defensive side of the roster, in addition to a role on special teams. He has appeared in 26 games over three seasons, 16 of which came in the 2022 season. He left the field with help of the training staff and was unable to place any weight on his leg.
