Last year’s second-round has IDP potential, but he may not take over Seau’s WLB spot. Morlon Greenwood may move over from the strong side, and has more IDP upside than Moore.

The Dolphins 2003 second-round pick missed all of last season with a foot injury. He was hospitalized because of a cut on his lip, but he should be fine physically.

Miami tried to trade him to New Orleans, but he failed a Saints team physical. ''We decided to give Eddie a couple more weeks of rehab time,’' coach Nick Saban said. ``Then, we’d all sit down and put our heads together to see what we feel is in his best interest.’'

Moore played reasonably well when healthy this season. But his difficulties staying on the field have stunted any chance for growth.

He didn’t play for the Dolphins all season.

Moore had surgery to repair a small fracture in the knee and will miss the remainder of the season.

Wow. Moore worked with defensive coordinator Jim Bates in Miami, where he barely played in four seasons because of injuries. Moore is still a longshot to be the team’s starter in Week 1, and playing the strong-side won’t yield many tackles.

Moore, who becomes a free agent, may not be ready to help a team until he recovers from knee surgery. Don’t expect to see him until next season.

A disappointing development for the Broncos, who were playing Moore on the first-team during minicamps. The former Dolphin needs more knee surgery, but the Broncos may bring him back when healthy. Denver now may look at Warrick Holdman as a starter at strong-side linebacker.
