Eddie George was reportedly offered to Miami in a trade before they acquired Lamar Gordon last week.
It looks like George’s stay in Dallas is only going to last one season.

    Eddie George wants more carries.
George cited Emmitt Smith’s recent success, a dicey argument. George may actually get his wish with the Cowboys possibly going more conservative in the next few weeks.

Eddie George says he plans on playing next year.
It just won’t be in Dallas. He could head back to Tennessee if he doesn’t mind being the backup.
  • DAL Running Back
He’s not returning to the Cowboys, but Eddie George wants to continue playing next year.
He should be able to find a backup job. It’s possible Tennessee could want him back if George could put his ego aside, like Jerome Bettis this season.

Eddie George is among the Titans players unable to participate in the team’s workouts this week.
Defensive end Kevin Carter and wide receiver Derrick Mason will be in Hawaii attending the annual meeting of the NFL Players Association. Safety Lance Schulters, kicker Joe Nedney and cornerback Andre Woolfolk are also recovering from surgeries and will be very limited.

Eddie George spoke with Titans coach Jeff Fisher about his reduced role in the offense next season.
There is still a chance that George could be released after June 1st if the team cannot restructure his current $4.25 million deal. It’s more likely that George will remain with the team, but not gain over 1,000 yards again.

The agent for Eddie George is upset that the Titans won’t return his calls.
It’s draft season, stupid. The Titans are likely also waiting to see how George’s rehab goes before re-negotiating. Coach Jeff Fisher, on the NFL Network last night, said he can’t imagine the two sides won’t find a way to make sure George is playing for the Titans next season.

Titans GM Floyd Reese says the team and Eddie George are still far apart in their attempt to re-structure his contract.
George’s salary cap figure currently stands at $7.32 million. We still expect George to remain in Tennessee, but his departure is a real possibility. The Titans wouldn’t be forced to make until after July 4th, when teams traditionally begin to sign their rookies.

Eddie George and the Titans appear closer to a deal.
It appears George will accept a significant pay cut and stay with the team. He will have to earn carries over second-year pro Chris Brown.

Eddie George is less optimistic that a deal will be reached to keep him with the Titans.
His agent believes the situation will “come to a head” in the next couple of days. The Titans need to begin signing their rookies, so the George situation should be resolved soon to free up cap room.
