Cardinals waived RB/FB Charles Scott, DE Jeremy Clark, DE John Fletcher, OG Jonathan Palmer, and WR Ed Gant.
Gant is suspended for the first four games, but the Cards didn’t deem him worth waiting on, opting for Max Komar. Scott flunked out of two camps, also the Eagles. He’s not come close to early expectations after a fine LSU career.

Cardinals signed WR Ed Gant to the practice squad.
Gant is coming off a four game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, and will serve as insurance for a thin wide receiver corp.

Bucs signed WR Ed Gant, OLs John Malecki and Marc Dile, FB Redrick Taylor, DE E.J. Wilson, S Vince Anderson, and LBs Simoni Lawrence and J.D. Folsom to reserve/future contracts.
Wilson was a seventh-round pick of Seattle, and projects as a potential early-down end who can kick to tackle in passing sets in the Bucs’ Cover 2. Gant was suspended four games in 2010 for violating the NFL’s policy on PEDs.
  • TB Wide Receiver #15
NFL suspended Cardinals WR Ed Gant four games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
This will crush Gant’s already long odds of making the Cardinals’ 53-man roster. On Arizona’s practice squad last year, Gant went undrafted out of North Alabama two Aprils ago. He posted a 4.41 forty at his March 2009 Pro Day.
  • TB Wide Receiver #15
Ed Gant led the Bucs with 121 yards and a touchdown on two receptions against the Redskins in the preseason finale.
The highlight was a 96-yard pass from Rudy Carpenter. Bucs reportedly “love” Gant’s 4.4 speed, as it adds a different element than the rest of the receiver corps. The former Cardinals practice squadder has a chance to make the final roster as the fifth receiver.
