Saints placed RB Dwayne Washington (illness) on the non-football illness list.
Washington has not played since Week 13. The special-team contributor rushed 11 times for 38 yards this season and is due to be a free agent this offseason. Assuming this illness isn’t gravely serious, Washington, 29 in April, will be a decent depth option that should fight for a job in camp somewhere.

  • Running Back
Saints RB Dwayne Washington (illness) will not play in Week 17 vs the Eagles.
Washington hasn’t played or practiced since Week 13. It’ll be another week of Taysom Hill and David Johnson behind Alvin Kamara (quad), who was removed from the injury report ahead of Sunday’s Eagles matchup.

  • Running Back
Saints RB Dwayne Washington (illness) won’t play in Week 16 vs the Browns.
Washington was unable to get cleared after missing Week 15. With Mark Ingram on IR, Washington’s absence leaves David Johnson and Eno Benjamin, who was claimed off waivers last week, to back up Alvin Kamara in Week 16.

  • Running Back
Saints RB Dwayne Washington (illness) is questionable for Week 15 vs Atlanta.
Washington didn’t practice this week, putting him on the wrong side of questionable. With Mark Ingram on IR, Washington will be in the mix for carries behind Alvin Kamara if he plays.

  • FA Running Back #33
    Saints signed RB Lamar Miller.
Miller, 30, will join the team’s practice squad a couple weeks after they lost Tony Jones to an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for about a month. Dwayne Washington looks like Alvin Kamara’s direct backup with Jones out. Miller is a long was from fantasy relevance.

  • FA Running Back #37
Saints RB Tony Jones was carted from New Orleans’ Week 4 game against the Giants with an ankle injury.
Alvin Kamara’s backup got rolled up in truly ugly fashion at the end of a second quarter run. He tried to hobble off the field under his own power before going down. The cart was then summoned. The Saints will finish the day, and perhaps the season, with Dwayne Washington and Ty Montgomery behind Kamara. Hopefully Jones is dealing with “just” a high-ankle sprain, but an injured reserve stint appears inevitable. There has not been as much work as expected behind Kamara, so Washington is not worth an immediate add in 10-12 team leagues.

  • Running Back
    Saints re-signed RB Dwayne Washington.
Washington played a total of 13 snaps on offense in 2020, so this is strictly a special teams move. The soon-to-be 27-year-old has been in New Orleans since 2018. He’d need Latavius Murray to be released to have any dynasty or redraft value.

  • Running Back #28
Saints placed RB Latavius Murray on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Murray, Dwayne Washington, FB Michael Burton, and the Saints RB coach were all ruled close contacts of Alvin Kamara. It leaves the Saints with Ty Montgomery as their likely Week 17 starter. Taysom Hill also figures to have a larger role in the run game. Murray and Kamara both have a chance to return for the Wild Card round.

  • Running Back
Saints activated RB Dwayne Washington from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The special teamer spent 18 days on the sideline. Washington will not be returning to snaps on offense.

  • Running Back
Saints placed RB Dwayne Washington on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Washington has operated almost exclusively as a special teams player since signing in New Orleans two years ago. He was likely fighting with Ty Montgomery for the No. 3 job behind Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray. This news could give Montgomery the inside track but neither are expected to be contributors on offense without multiple injuries ahead of them.
