Former Panthers WR Dwayne Jarrett has signed with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.
A second-round pick by Carolina back in 2007, Jarrett was cut in 2010 after four disappointing seasons. He caught just 35 passes and scored one touchdown in 32 career games. Still only 25, Jarrett will look to revive his career in Canada.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
NFL suspended free agent WR Dwayne Jarrett three games for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.
Jarrett was pinched twice for DUI in three years and spent all of last season out of football. We may not see the former second-round pick in the NFL again.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Former Panthers WR Dwayne Jarrett has retired from football.
Jarrett tried to resurrect his career with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders this spring. Apparently, the light bulb didn’t go on. Jarrett, the 45th overall pick in the 2007 draft, was a prolific wideout at USC before managing 35 catches in four years with Carolina. Just 25, he never got another shot in the NFL.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Panthers WR Dwayne Jarrett is reportedly “fine” after a car accident Wednesday night.
He doesn’t appear to have any “serious injuries” although it’s unclear if he has any at all. Jarrett is expected to compete with Drew Carter and Keary Colbert for a starting job this August, with Jarrett a slight favorite to start as a rookie.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Dwayne Jarrett has been running with Carolina’s third-team offense recently.
The rookie is still coming back from a hamstring injury, but has a long way to go before claiming starter status. He will play in this weekend’s game.

Keary Colbert caught a 21-yard pass in Friday night’s preseason loss.
While second-round rookie Dwayne Jarrett had a seven-yard catch, Drew Carter didn’t make the box score despite starting and seeing the first two targets of the game. Special teamer Taye Biddle continued to prove himself a budding big-play specialist with a 35-yard reception. Colbert remains the favorite to be Carolina’s No. 2 receiver on opening day.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Panthers declared WR Dwayne Jarrett, OLs Evan Mathis and Frank Omiyale, LBs Dan Morgan and Adam Seward, DEs Charles Johnson and Otis Grigsby, and third QB Matt Moore inactive for Week 8 against Indianapolis.
David Carr is active, but will back up Vinny Testaverde. It’s possible both will see action in the game. Jon Beason starts at middle linebacker.
  • LV Wide Receiver
NFL Network’s Adam Shefter reports that Drew Carter is lining up as Carolina’s starting wideout to start their OTA sessions.
Shefter notes that former two USC wideouts, Dwayne Jarrett and Keary Colbert, have legitimate chances to pass Carter. Jarrett has to be considered the slight favorite to get the eventual nod.
  • CAR Wide Receiver
Panthers WR Dwayne Jarrett worked with the first team on Friday.
Carolina coaches want Jarrett to be the No. 2 receiver by the time the season begins. Even so, Jarrett is only worth a flier pick in his rookie season.
  • DEN Coaching Staff
Keary Colbert is reportedly making “the biggest leap” of the Panthers receivers in Carolina’s new offense this month.
Colbert was in former coordinator Dan Henning’s doghouse, but should be guaranteed to make the team now that Keyshawn Johnson was released. Dwayne Jarrett, Drew Carter, and Colbert are battling for spots two-through-four, with Jarrett the early favorite for the open starting gig.
