Raiders S Duron Harmon returned to the game in Week 11 against the Broncos.
Harmon went down with a non-contact injury in the second half and had to be carted from the field. That’s almost always a bad sign, but Harmon is built different, as the kids say. After being inactive for the first game of his career, Harmon has played in 153 consecutive games. He may have just been dealing with some bad cramps.

Raiders S Duron Harmed was carted to the locker room in Week 11 against the Broncos.
Harmon was running to help make a tackle but appeared to suffer a non-contact injury as he approached the action. He went down and the cart had to be brought out the take him to the locker room. Harmon did manage to stand up and walk over to the cart. It’s unlikely he returns in this game.

Raiders signed S Duron Harmon, formerly of the Falcons, to an undisclosed contract.
Harmon was a 17-game starter for the Falcons last season, defending five passes and picking off two passes. He’s fallen off in PFF’s coverage rating over the past two years with Detroit and Atlanta, outside of the New England cocoon. It’s unsurprising that Patriots West settled on Harmon, who figures to push Johnathan Abram and Trevon Moehrig for playing time at deep safety.

Falcons signed DB Duron Harmon, formerly of the Lions.
He’ll join Erik Harris as a veteran solution off the team’s bench and in the secondary. Harmon, 30, most recently logged a career-high 1,103 defensive snaps with the Lions, soaking up much more than his previous high (702) due to the team’s myriad of injuries. He’ll also help mentor a young (and rebuilding) Falcons defensive unit.

The Lions canceled Tuesday’s practice to protest the Kenosha, Wis. police shooting of Jacob Blake.
With coach Matt Patricia present, Duron Harmon, Trey Flowers and Taylor Decker addressed the media. “As a team, we looked each other in the eyes and realized that football isn’t important today,” Harmon said. “We have a platform that we are able to use not just to raise awareness but to create change.” Flowers echoed Harmon’s words. “We can’t say silent. We cannot be going on in the world with our regular day. So today, unified we stand here and we came up with these words, these slogans, and we spread the message, spread the word.” Players and teams across the league have expressed anguish at Blake’s shooting. The NFL is coming around on the issue of racial justice after its disastrous initial response to Colin Kaepernick’s protest.

Lions acquired DB Duron Harmon from the Patriots.
If Lions coach Matt Patricia could acquire every veteran on the Patriots 2019 roster, he would. Harmon has spent all seven of his NFL seasons in New England, operating as a do-all defensive back for an elite secondary. Last season, Harmon he played a key role in three-corner looks and will do the same, if not more, for Detroit. The Lions acquired Harmon and the Patriots’ 2020 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2020 fifth-round pick.

Patriots agreed to terms with No. 91 overall pick S Duron Harmon on a four-year contract.
Considered one of the biggest reaches of the draft, Harmon was typically projected as a day-three pick. According to NFL Draft Insider Tony Pauline, the Patriots’ scouts were “overruled” by Bill Belichick on the Rutgers product. Competing for snaps behind Adrian Wilson, Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson, Harmon will likely be limited to special teams as a rookie, though anything is possible in New England.

Patriots selected Rutgers S Duron Harmon with the No. 91 overall pick.
Harmon (6-foot, 196) was viewed as a late-round prospect. Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl stated during Rutgers’ bowl game that Harmon was “destroying people out there,” as well as commenting on his “good size.” He’ll compete for snaps behind Adrian Wilson, Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory, and Tavon Wilson.

According to NFL Draft insider Tony Pauline, the Patriots’ scouts were “overruled” and the brain trust “made the choice” when New England selected S Duron Harmon with the No. 91 overall pick.
In other words, Bill Belichick loved Harmon while his scouts didn’t. Pauline wrote that “no one I spoke with” thought Harmon would be a top-100 pick before the draft. New England selected him at No. 91 overall. Pauline also reports there was “a lot of disagreement” over the Patriots’ second-round selection of OLB Jamie Collins. “Many” Pats scouts graded Collins as a “last-day pick.”

Following the release of Steve Gregory, Duron Harmon is penciled in as the favorite to be the Patriots’ starting strong safety.
Harmon was the 91st pick in last April’s draft despite being viewed beforehand as no more than a late-round prospect. He ended up playing 433 defensive snaps as a rookie, contributing 31 tackles and two interceptions while receiving positive marks in coverage from PFF. Harmon will face competition for the job but has some sleeper IDP attractiveness, especially in Dynasty leagues.
