Tulane junior WR Duece Watts (undisclosed) is not playing in Tuesday’s Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Nevada.
Watts (6'2/195) entered the day as Tulane’s leading receiver, so not having him in the mix is a major blow to Tulane’s passing game. Through 2020, Watts earned 31 receptions for 512 yards and six scores. Though unavailable to end this season, expect Watts to be a key piece for the Green Wave next season.

  • TEN Wide Receiver #19
Tulane sophomore WR Jha’Quan Jackson caught three passes for 57 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 35-21 win over Memphis.
Jackson (5'9/185) reached the end zone for the second time in Tulane’s last three games, and for the sixth time this season. The sophomore wide receiver is now up to 29 receptions for 356 yards and six scores in 2020. Jackson was one of two Tulane players to catch a touchdown pass Saturday afternoon, with Duece Watts (3-46-1) being responsible for the other. Jackson and Watts are tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions, and it remains to be seen if they’ll have the opportunity to break the deadlock in a bowl game.

  • FA Wide Receiver #85
Tulane junior WR Duece Watts caught five passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-3 win over Temple on Saturday.
Watts (6'2/195) had a breakout game for the Green Wave as the three-star JUCO transfer’s previous high receiving yardage mark was 56 against SMU. His first touchdown came on a well-designed RPO where the safeties froze in run support allowing Watts to streak down the field for the 31-yard score. His second touchdown was even more impressive as he caught a fade pass that appeared to be out of bounds, however after further review was shown to have dragged his toe for the five-yard score. Tulane travels to play AAC foe East Carolina next Saturday.
