Dolphins signed sixth-round C Drew Mormino to a four-year contract.
Miami oddly drafted two natural centers (Samson Satele being the other) in April’s draft, so Mormino will likely be tried at guard if he impresses the coaching staff. Mormino played on Central Michigan’s line with Joe Staley.

Dolphins placed G Drew Mormino on injured reserve, ending his season, and waived WR Kerry Reed and C Johnathan Ingram.
Mormino, who’d been seeing action with the first unit during training camp, had a torn labrum. Reed became expendable when the Dolphins claimed Greg Camarillo off waivers from San Diego. Ingram was to be a reserve.

The Dolphins are still without an accomplished left guard opposite Justin Smiley.
The team rejected overtures from ex-Dolphin Jeno James and hasn’t returned phone calls from the agent of unsigned Chris Liwienski. Right now, the competition is between Drew Mormino, Shawn Murphy, and Donald Thomas.

Dolphins waived/failed physical C/G Drew Mormino.
Mormino still isn’t 100 percent recovered from a shoulder injury that cost him all of his rookie year. He figures to clear waivers because of it.
