Browns activated OG Drew Forbes (knee) from injured reserve.
Forbes was the No. 189 overall pick of the draft. The Browns have received arguably league-worst play at right guard this season, but a day-three pick coming off a knee issue is not about to be forced into the starting lineup.

Browns placed OG Drew Forbes (knee) on injured reserve.
He’s eligible to return mid-season. The No. 189 overall pick in this year’s draft, Forbes (6’5/308) churned 116 snaps in four preseason appearances, allowing a combined eight hurries and quarterback pressures. There’s no guarantee he would’ve played himself into a rotational role, but Cleveland’s offensive trenches remains its weakest point. Forbes remains an intriguing small-school prospect with starter upside despite his sub-par arm length (32 5/8").
  • CLE Guard #70
Browns selected Southeast Missouri OG Drew Forbes with the No. 189 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Forbes (6’5/308) was a three-year starter as SEMO’s left tackle, where he earned second-team FCS All-American as a senior yet was snubbed for a Combine invite. Forbes promptly blew up his Pro Day with a 4.95 forty and 30 ½-inch vertical. In addition to the colossal jump in competition, Forbes’ biggest obstacle is his sub-par arm length (32 5/8") which may force him inside to guard. Either way, Forbes is an intriguing small-school prospect with starter upside.
