  • WAS Front Office
Redskins named Doug Williams senior vice president of player development.
It’s a new role for the former Super Bowl MVP, who had previously served as Washington’s senior VP of player personnel. This continues the Redskins’ front office shakeup that began when the team fired long-time president Bruce Allen last week. The Redskins are also bringing in Rob Rogers as their new senior vice president of football administration while the team announced Thursday that Eric Shaffer will not return as senior VP of football operations.
  • WAS Front Office
Redskins named Doug Williams senior vice president of player personnel.
Williams was the MVP for the Redskins in their Super Bowl XXII victory. Team president Bruce Allen will retain most of the front office power, but the promotion makes Williams the top personnel guy in the organization even if he was not given the general manager tag. Eric Schaffer was promoted to VP of football ops, while Kyle Smith was named director of college scouting. After a tumultuous run with ex-GM Scot McCloughan, this has the makings of a front office which can actually work together.
