Commanders signed WR Ja’Corey Brooks, CB Tre Hawkins, DE D.J. Johnson, WR Jacoby Jones, DE TJ Maguranyanga, S Rob McDaniel, T Tim McKay, CB Darius Rush, CB Car’lin Vigers, G Sala Aumavae-Laulu and DT Ricky Barber to reserve/future contracts.
In case you’re wondering, it’s not former Texans/Ravens wideout Jacoby Jones, but a wholly different Jacoby Jones who came out of UCF as an undrafted free agent in 2025. This Jones ran a 4.68s 40-yard-dash and is more of a special teamer who hangs around the roster. Glad we could clear that up for you. And us. But mainly you.
  • WAS Linebacker #53
Oregon redshirt senior TE D.J. Johnson as spotted on the field warming up ahead of Friday night’s Pac-12 championship game against Utah.
Johnson (6'5/272) has missed the last three games with an injury, but there were some who believed that he would suit up for tonight’s game against Utah. Johnson warming up is a good sign, as he plays a critical role in the team’s blocking scheme. He has played on 226 snaps this season, and has just one catch on one target for 11 yards. Last season, Johnson posted a receiving line of 10/113/3 on 15 targets. He has also appeared on 120 defense snaps, and has four quarterback pressures and one sack per Pro Football Focus.

  • WAS Linebacker #53
Oregon redshirt senior TE D.J. Johnson (undisclosed) was close to being a full-go in Monday’s practice, according to Duck Territory.
No word as to what Johnson (6'4/258) has been limited by in recent practices, but he’s apparently close to being at full strength. And this is good news for Oregon, which saw another tight end (Patrick Herbert) suffer a significant knee injury during this past Saturday’s scrimmage. Johnson has been used more as a blocker during his Oregon career, but that could change this fall.

  • WAS Linebacker #53
Oregon redshirt junior TE D.J. Johnson (indisclosed) practiced in a limited capacity Friday.
Johnson (6'5/272) converted from defensive end to tight end over the winter. He was a very highly touted prospect coming out of high school, ranking as the sixth best weak side defensive end prospect and ninth overall recruit from the state of California in 2017. At 272 lbs. it’s likely that Johnson will specialize as an in-line blocking option upon his return.
