Chiefs placed OG Joe Thuney on the PUP list.
In addition to Thuney, the Chiefs also placed EDGE Charles Omenihu, DT Derrick Nnadi, and DB Jaylen Watson on the PUP list. Thuney suffered what was called a “significant pectoral injury” by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport during last year’s AFC Championship Game against the Ravens and was unable to suit up for the Super Bowl as a result. In addition to Thuney, Omenihu suffered a torn ACL in the Super Bowl and is a likely candidate to open the year on the reserve/PUP list. All players are eligible to return to the roster upon passing a physical.
  • KC Defensive Tackle #91
    Chiefs re-signed DT Derrick Nnadi.
Two months shy of his 28th birthday, Nnadi is a rotational run-stuffer who did not hold up particularly well against the run last season. He is a big presence in the middle of the interior.
  • KC Wide Receiver #24
Skyy Moore (knee) will not practice on Thursday.
Moore didn’t practice on Wednesday and is at risk of missing Sunday’s game against the Ravens if he isn’t able to log a limited session on Friday. Even if he’s active, Moore will be hard to trust in any DFS playoff lineups. He’s caught just seven passes for 43 scoreless yards in his last five games. In addition to Moore, DT Derrick Nnadi (tricep), and LG Joe Thuney (pectoral) also won’t practice on Thursday.
  • KC Defensive Tackle #91
Chiefs DT Derrick Nnadi (tricep) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
Nnadi missed the Chiefs’ Divisional Round win over the Bills after starting in every regular season game and the Wild Card win over the Dolphins. With the Ravens’ bruising running game coming up in the AFC Championship game, Nnadi’s injury is key to monitor. S Mike Edwards (concussion) was the other Chiefs defender to not practice on Wednesday.
  • KC Defensive Tackle #69
Chiefs elevated NT Mike Pennell and DT Matt Dickerson for Sunday’s Divisional Round against the Bills.
The Chiefs were already set to be without DT Derrick Nnadi on Sunday but fellow DT Charles Omenihu was also listed as questionable with an illness. While there is optimism that Omenihu will be able to play, the Chiefs are clearly looking to add more depth in the interior since both Nnadi and Omenihu each played over 50 percent of the team’s snaps in the first game against the Bills.
  • KC Defensive Lineman #91
Chiefs re-signed NT Derrick Nnadi to an undisclosed contract.
Nnadi is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, grading out with a career-low 51.3 PFF rating, but has had more success than that in his playing history and won’t turn 26 until May. Pending terms, it’s a nice keep for a Chiefs team that has quietly done some good work in free agency.

  • KC Defensive Lineman #91
Chiefs selected FSU NT Derrick Nnadi with the No. 75 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Nnadi (6’1/317) was a three-year starter and four-year contributor at nose tackle for the ‘Noles, logging 17 career tackles for loss, eight sacks, and two forced fumbles. Although his tape shows sporadic flashes of up-field burst, Nnadi was primarily a run-stopping space eater and tested like one in Indy with fifth-percentile athleticism. Nnadi has a place in the NFL, but he will likely max out as a run defender only.
  • KC Defensive Lineman #91
Chiefs signed third-round NT Derrick Nnadi to a four-year contract.
Although Nnadi’s tape shows sporadic flashes of up-field burst, he was primarily a run-stopping space eater at FSU and tested like one in Indy with fifth-percentile athleticism. Nnadi has a place in the NFL, but he will likely max out as a run defender only.
