Chargers placed WR Mike Williams on the PUP list.
Players placed on the PUP list ahead of camp can come off at any time. Williams was dealing with an unspecified injury before the start of camp and was believed to be on track toward playing once camp kicked off. Clearly needing more time to recover, Williams will join WR Jaylen Johnson, S Elijah Molden, LB Del’Shawn Phillips, and OT Savion Washington on the PUP list as they continue to ready themselves for camp.
  • LAC Linebacker #13
Chargers signed LB Del’Shawn Phillips, formerly of the Texans, to a one-year contract.
Phillips is a five-year veteran of the league who has played almost exclusively on special teams. Per PFF, He’s appeared on just 271 defensive snaps in his career, but played on over 366 special teams snaps just last season. He’ll be tasked with playing a similar role this season with the Chargers in what will be his sixth season as a pro.
  • HOU Linebacker #53
Texans agreed to terms with LB Del’Shawn Phillips, formerly of the Ravens, on a one-year contract.
Phillips hasn’t seen much run on defense during his four NFL seasons but has been a key special teams contributor for the Jets and Ravens. He notched 24 tackles and forced one fumble in 2023. Phillips will step in as an immediate contributor on special teams for Houston and can fill in as an inside linebacker when needed.
  • LAC Linebacker #53
    Ravens re-signed LB Del’Shawn Phillips to a one-year contract.
Like several Ravens restricted free agents, he was non-tendered and brought back under more favorable terms as the team is trying to conserve salary cap space in case a team makes a run at Lamar Jackson. Phillips is primarily a special teamer and has played just 161 defensive snaps in three seasons.

  • LAC Linebacker #53
The Ravens have not tendered an offer to restricted free agent Del’Shawn Phillips, making him a free agent.
The ex-Jet and Bill appeared in 16 games as a special teamer last season. He could end up re-signing for less than the “low” RFA tender amount of $2.6 million.
