Jaguars designated DT DaVon Hamilton (back) to return from injured reserve.
This is welcome news for the Jaguars, who have been without their starting defensive tackle through the first five weeks. Hamilton was signed to a three-year extension this offseason after setting career-highs in tackles (56), TFLs (5), and sacks (2.5). The team has officially opened his 21-day window for a return and can activate him whenever they feel he is ready.

Jaguars placed DL DaVon Hamilton (back) on injured reserve.
Hamilton will miss at least the next four games with the injury, which is something he’s been dealing with for the last two weeks. The Jaguars signed Hamilton to a three-year extension earlier this offseason after he set career-highs with 56 tackles, five TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. A key member along the offensive line, his absence is a slight downgrade for the Jags’ run defense.

Jaguars DT DaVon Hamilton is sidelined indefinitely with a back issue.
Hamilton suffered the injury away from the team. Signed to a three-year extension in April, Hamilton is coming off something of a breakout season under coach Doug Pederson. A two-down run-plugger, Hamilton’s regular season absence would be no small issue.
  • JAX Defensive Lineman #52
Jaguars signed DT DaVon Hamilton to a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension.
A third-round pick in 2020, Hamilton is coming off the best year of his career. He set career-highs in tackles (56), TFLs (five), and sacks (2.5). Hamilton also forced and recovered a fumble. After taking a leap in his third season, the Jags chose to reward the all-purpose tackle with a hefty contract that includes $23 million fully guaranteed. Hamilton can tack on $1.5 million through incentives over the course of the deal.

  • JAX Defensive Lineman #52
Jaguars declared DT DaVon Hamilton, CB Shaquill Griffin, TE Jacob Hollister, DE/LB Jordan Smith, and OL KC McDermott inactive for Week 13 against the Rams.
Nothing to see here. James Robinson (heel, knee) is officially available as the team’s starting running back.

  • JAX Defensive Lineman #52
Jaguars DT DaVon Hamilton (knee) is out for Week 13 against the Vikings.
Third-round rookie Hamilton was carted off in Week 12 and didn’t practice all week. He’s week to week. It’s poor timing with the tanking Jaguars facing Dalvin Cook on Sunday.

  • JAX Defensive Lineman #52
Jaguars DT DaVon Hamilton was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of Week 12 against the Browns.
The Jaguars selected Hamilton out of Ohio State in the third round of the draft this year. Hamilton recorded his first career sack two weeks ago and entered the week with five QB hits. He has played on half of the Jaguars’ defensive snaps in a majority of his games this year.

  • KC Tackle #74
Jaguars activated OL Jawaan Taylor from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
He only ended up missing four days of training camp. Taylor started all 16 games as a rookie and should make a leap in his second year. Jacksonville also activated TE Charles Jones and rookie DT DaVon Hamilton.

Jaguars placed four rookies on the reserve/COVID-19 list, including third-round DT DaVon Hamilton.
The other names include DB Lug Barcoo, DB Josiah Scott and G Tre’Vour Wallace-Simms. All four will need to be cleared by the team’s medical staff before re-joining football activities. Hamilton is expected to fill a depth role along the defensive line after Calais Campbell departed to the Ravens.

  • JAX Defensive Lineman #52
Jaguars signed third-round DT DaVon Hamilton to a standard four-year contract.
The Jaguars lost Calais Campbell this offseason, leaving a void of 818 snaps for someone on the defense line to take. 2019 first-round pick Taven Bryan already played around 46 percent of the team’s snaps, so expect that figure to increase, but Hamilton has a path to immediate playing time. He contributed a career-high in sacks (6.0) and tackles for loss (10.5) during his final season with the Buckeyes.
