Texans agreed to terms with OT David Sharpe, formerly of the Panthers.
Sharpe, who has bounced around the league over the past five years, played two games for the Texans in 2018. He last suited up for the Panthers in 2023 and will be offensive line depth in Houston. The Texans last season were graded by PFF as the 19th best run blocking offensive line and the 20th best pass blocking unit.
  • HOU Tackle #75
    Ravens signed OT David Sharpe.
Sharpe saw limited time with the Ravens in 2021, appearing on 67 offensive snaps per Pro Football Focus. A former fourth-round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft, Sharpe has spent time with the Raiders, Texans and Washington Commanders during his six-year tenure in the league. He’s not expected to be anything more than added depth at this point.

  • HOU Tackle #75
Washington acquired OL David Sharpe and a 2021 seventh-round pick from the Raiders in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick.
Sharpe was re-signed by the Raiders this season to be a key backup offensive lineman, but he’ll have a more direct path to playing time in Washington. It’s not a big move for either party.

  • HOU Tackle #75
Raiders re-signed OL David Sharpe to a one-year, $2.133 million contract.
Still only 24, Sharpe is one of the Raiders’ top reserve linemen. He should have little trouble retaining his 53-man roster spot.

  • HOU Tackle #75
Raiders extended an original-round tender to restricted free agent OL David Sharpe.
A fourth-round pick in 2017, Sharpe was forced to make two starts off the bench for the Raiders last year due to injuries to Trent Brown. He’ll remain an important reserve piece for the team in 2020.
  • HOU Tackle #75
Raiders selected Florida OT David Sharpe with the No. 129 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Sharpe (6’6/343) turned pro as a true junior after manning blind-side tackle his final two seasons at UF, logging 26 starts but failing to earn All-SEC recognition. Sharpe is a monster getting off the bus with telephone poles for arms (35 3/8"). He tested as a putrid fourth-percentile athlete before the draft, however, and shows worrisome stiffness on tape, frequently falling victim to speed rushers. Likely a multi-year project, Sharpe’s shortage of movement skills will certainly move him off left tackle and either to the right side or guard. Ultimately, we’d consider him a long shot to develop into a starter.
  • HOU Tackle #75
Raiders signed fourth-round OT David Sharpe to a four-year contract.
Sharpe is an enormous human being at 6'6/343 but is stiff as a board and graded out as a fourth-percentile athlete at the Combine. He’s a major NFL project.
  • HOU Tackle #75
Raiders OL coach Tom Cable said he was “really impressed” by sophomore OT David Sharpe.
“You look at him and you think, ‘My God, there’s a right tackle that might play in this league for 10 years if he ever captures it,’” Cable said. “When David realizes who he is at his best, this kid is going to go off the chain.” Sharpe faces a tough road to the 53-man roster after the Raiders drafted two tackles in the first three rounds, but he could force his way into the mix with a strong camp.
  • HOU Tackle #75
Texans promoted OT David Sharpe from their practice squad.
A fourth-round pick of the Raiders in 2017, Sharpe was let go after final cuts earlier this month. He has some talent, however, and the Texans can use all the help they can get along the offensive line.
