Bleacher Reports Connor Rogers believed Michigan EDGE David Ojabo is the best available player in the draft heading into Day 2.
Rogers posted a list of 16 available players, with Ojabo (6'5/250) sitting at the top. A torn Achilles during Michigan’s pro day unquestionably hurt Ojabo’s draft stock, despite reports that teams weren’t too concerned about the injury. Given when we know about Achilles injuries and the tolls they can take on a players career, the reported lack of concern around Ojabo’s injury was interesting. There are still plenty of teams in need of a top EDGE rusher heading into Friday. Ojabo should expect to hear his name called at some point in the evening.

Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Hanson mocked Michigan EDGE David Ojabo to the Chiefs with the 30th overall pick in his final mock draft.
Ojabo (6'5/250) looked like a near lock to be a first round selection prior to tearing his Achilles at Michigan’s pro day. Earlier this week, the Monday Morning Quarterback’s Albert Breer reported that one NFL GM told him that Ojabo’s torn Achilles injury “shouldn’t be an issue” once healed. Hanson appears to buy that belief here, mocking Ojabo to the Chiefs with the 30th pick in the draft.

According to the MMQB’s Albert Breer, one GM told him that Michigan EDGE David Ojabo’s Achilles injury shouldn’t be an issue.
Once viewed as a potential top-10 selection, Ojabo’s (6'5/250) stock took an unfortunate tumble at his pro day when he tore his Achilles during his on-field workouts. As it pertains to his draft stock, the mileage may vary from team to team. One AFC GM told Breer that “Once it’s healed, it shouldn’t be an issue” while another team told Breer that it will likely be a true redshirt for Ojabo. A team that has multiple first-round selections would be a likely landing spot for Ojabo, as they will have more of an ability to give him that redshirt season.

Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline believes the Chiefs are a great fit for Michigan EDGE David Ojabo.
The Achilles tear for Ojabo (6'5/250) really complicated things in regards to his draft stock. Before the injury, he had the potential to be a top-10 pick but now it’s in complete limbo. From Pauline’s perspective, the Chiefs make a lot of sense. They have the ability to let him heal properly and not rush him back but from a long-term perspective, it would be a great way to maximize their pass rush for the future. Plus, having two first-round picks gives them a luxury to take the risk that other teams in the back end of the round don’t have.

The Draft Network’s Drae Harris has Michigan EDGE David Ojabo as his 15th-ranked player on his latest top-50 big board.
During the 2021 season, Ojabo (6'5/250) was dominant on the edge opposite Aidan Hutchinson. Unfortunately, he tore his Achilles at his pro day, which seemingly derailed his draft stock. For Harris, Ojabo didn’t suffer an injury tax, coming in as his 15th-ranked player and his fourth-ranked edge rusher. His draft stock is currently in a state of flux, but seeing Ojabo still valued highly on big boards is a good sign.

The Draft Network’s Damian Parson has the Cincinnati Bengals selecting Michigan EDGE David Ojabo with the 31st selection in his latest mock draft.
After tearing his Achilles on Friday, Ojabo’s (6'4/250) stock was in a major state of flux. The injury itself can be a devastating one for a player like Ojabo who is really explosive in his movements. Going at the end of the first round might end up being a best-case-scenario for Ojabo, as he will be afforded the ability to fully heal before being counted on to produce. If he is able to fully recover, which all indications are that he will, this is a value selection for the Bengals.

Michigan EDGE David Ojabo (foot) was confirmed to have torn his Achilles after needing helped off the field during Michigan’s Pro Day.
This is devastating news for Ojabo, who was in line to be a first-round pick after a great combine and good 2021 production-wise. Achilles have been more debilitating than ACLs the past few years, but thankfully doctors expect a full recovery for Ojabo and are putting him on the same six month timeline Rams’ RB Cam Akers was on. Akers managed to recover enough to help the Rams win a Super Bowl, so hopefully Ojabo can do the same.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Michigan EDGE David Ojabo “limped off the field with the help of trainers” at Michigan’s pro day.
Not much else has been announced in regards to the injury to Ojabo (6'4/250). The hope is that it won’t be a setback for the potential first-round draft pick in next month’s draft, but we’ll need more information before knowing how this could affect him. The belief is that he suffered a leg injury, while Schefter also reporting that it “got very quiet” on the field following the injury. Ojabo has been mocked to several teams in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and is one of the more raw EDGE rushers of the class who could blossom at the next level.

SI’s John McMullen reported that the Eagles are willing to trade up to ensure they get Michigan EDGE David Ojabo.
With the Eagles holding three first-round selections in the 2022 NFL Draft, there are a lot of different ways that things can go. At the combine, the rumor mill is in full force and the whispers about the Eagles intentions were made very clear by McMullen. EDGE is certainly a position of need and Ojabo would be a huge asset in reshaping the Eagles defense. He is far from a finished product, but the raw pass-rushing ability that Ojabo possesses makes for a fascinating projection. The question remains how far the Eagles would have to move up to get Ojabo with the class being as loaded and diverse as it currently sits. Regardless of how far they need to trade up, they have the capital to get there with ease.

Michigan EDGE David Ojabo ran a 4.55 40-yard dash at the combine
While his teammate gets most of the headlines, Ojabo (6'5/250) has also been a very hot prospect to go in the first round, and his blazing 40-yard dash time will help. His athleticism has always been his calling card, and that 4.55 shows that off in spades. He’s a raw prospect with through-the-roof potential, and any prospective DC’s will be salivating at the chance to unleash that speed.
