Ravens HC John Harbaugh said EDGE David Ojabo underwent surgery on a partially torn ACL, ending his season.
Harbaugh was on record earlier in the season saying Ojabo wouldn’t need surgery. That appears to have changed, as the second-year pass rusher has now undergone surgery in hopes of being ready for the start of training camp next summer. A torn Achilles tendon during Ojabo’s 2022 pro day lowered his draft stock and limited him in his rookie campaign. A number of injuries have limited him to just three games this season, as Ojabo has yet to play since Week 3 against the Colts. His season ends with six tackles and one sack.
  • BAL EDGE #90
Ravens EDGE David Ojabo said he plans to rehab from his injury and won’t need surgery.
Ojabo was placed on injured reserve on September 30th and will have to miss at least four games. The second-year pass rusher will be eligible to return in Week 9 when the Ravens take on the Seahawks assuming all goes well with his rehab. In three games, Ojabo has totaled six tackles and one sack while also forcing a fumble.
  • BAL EDGE #90
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said EDGE David Ojabo (ankle/knee) needs to decide on whether or not his injury would be season-ending.
It’s a weird way for Harbaugh to phrase it, but it sounds like Ojabo has a decision to make on whether or not to have season-ending surgery. We don’t know the particulars on Ojabo’s injuries, but the second-year pass rusher was placed on injured reserve last weekend and will miss at least three more games after being sidelined for Week 4. With Ojabo already on injured reserve, he and the team don’t have to rush to a decision, but we’d expect one to be reached sooner rather than later.
  • BAL EDGE #90
Ravens placed EDGE David Ojabo (ankle/knee) on injured reserve.
The hits seem to keep coming for the Ravens, who have already experienced numerous high profile injuries to regular starters this season. Through it all, Baltimore currently finds themselves at 2-1 after their overtime defeat in Week 3.
  • BAL Linebacker #90
Ravens EDGE David Ojabo said he’s “110 percent” recovered from his Achilles injury.
Ojabo suffered a torn Achilles at Michigan’s pro day last offseason. A potential first-round talent before the injury, Ojabo was instead drafted by the Ravens with the No. 45 overall pick in last year’s draft and enters this season with a clean bill of health. He returned in time to play in two regular-season games, appearing on 21 defensive snaps while also recording a sack. Ojabo is one of several young pass rushers the Ravens hope will contribute at a high level this season. Reportedly feeling “more explosive” than he did prior to his injury, Ojabo’s ceiling is sky high if he can stay healthy.

  • BAL Linebacker #90
The Score’s Jordan Schultz reports Ravens EDGE David Ojabo (Achilles’) will play in Week 15 against the Browns.
Baltimore activated the rookie from injured reserve on the first day of November but he has yet to make his debut. Projected to be a first-round pick, Ojabo tore his Achilles at Michigan’s pro day and fell to the second round of the draft. He will likely have his snaps limited in Week 15, but his presence will give Baltimore’s pass-rush some extra juice versus the Browns.

Ravens activated David Ojabo (Achilles) from injured reserve.
Ojabo has been back practicing with the team since they designated him to return on October 12th. The rookie second-round pick will have a chance to return from a torn Achilles suffered during his March pro day when the Ravens face off against the Saints on Monday night. Even if he’s active for Week 9, Ojabo will likely be on a pitch count as he looks to acclimate himself to the NFL game.

Ravens will activate EDGE David Ojabo (Achilles) for Week 9 against the Saints.
Ojabo suffered a torn Achilles at his March pro day and fell to the Ravens in the second round of this year’s draft. The rookie EDGE returned to practice on October 12th and head coach John Harbaugh said it’s possible that he could play on Monday against the Saints. In his final season at Michigan, Ojabo totaled 42 pressures and 11 sacks while generating pressure on 9.5 percent of his snaps.

  • BAL Linebacker #90
Ravens EGDE David Ojabo (Achilles) will make his practice debut this week.
Ojabo, a second-round pick by the Ravens in the 2022 NFL Draft, has been recovering from an Achilles injury he suffered during his pro day. In 2021 at Michigan, Ojabo generated 42 pressures and 11 sacks in 279 rush snaps for an excellent 9.5 percent pressure rate along with a strong 87.3 PFF pass-rush grade, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors and setting a single-season school record for forced fumbles. Ojaba could be a major addition to a Baltimore pass rush graded by PFF as the league’s ninth best.

Ravens signed second-round EDGE David Ojabo to a four-year contract.
With Ojabo signed, every rookie from the 2022 NFL Draft is under contract. Likely a first-round pick before rupturing his Achilles at his Pro Day, Ojabo should spend his first season rehabbing. Once healthy, he has all the skills to be a productive pass rusher.
