  • PHI Center #63
Chargers selected Michigan C David Molk with the No. 226 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
It’s believed medical concerns may have affected Molk’s stock. Also undersized at under 6-foot-1, 299, Molk is a try-hard center who got the most out of his talent at Michigan. He was a 2011 first-team All American while earning Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year honors and the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center. Molk could be Nick Hardwick’s eventual successor.
  • PHI Center #63
Chargers agreed to terms with No. 226 overall pick C David Molk on a four-year contract.
Knocked for being undersized at 6'1" and 298 pounds with short arms, Molk fell to the final round despite being named the nation’s best center at Michigan last season. The Chargers hope he can develop into Nick Hardwick’s successor.
  • PHI Center #63
Michigan C David Molk says he’s “completely healed” from the ankle injury suffered in the Sugar Bowl against Virginia Tech.
The Rimington Trophy winner was able to perform drills at his personal pro day earlier in the week. Although the highly opinionated Molk adamantly insists he’s the best center in the draft, he’s often ranked third behind Wisconsin’s Peter Konz and Ohio State’s Michael Brewster or Georgia’s Ben Jones.
  • FA Wide Receiver #16
Chargers placed WR Seyi Ajirotutu (hand) and C David Molk (thumb) on season-ending injured reserve.
Ajirotutu had his hand in a cast after last week’s game. He had three catches for 45 yards in three games with the Chargers. Michael Spurlock will likely see increased snaps, though he’s far from a fantasy option. A special teamer and extra blocker in jumbo packages, Molk suffered a thumb injury in Week 13.
  • PHI Center #63
    Chargers waived C David Molk.
A seventh-round pick in 2012, Molk appeared in 12 games for the Chargers’ injury-ravaged line last year. He never developed into Nick Hardwick’s successor. Johnnie Troutman looks like a good bet to stick on the roster.
  • PHI Center #63
Eagles placed C David Molk on injured reserve with a torn biceps, ending his season.
Molk was injured in Monday night’s loss. The 2012 seventh rounder appeared in seven games last season, making four starts. His loss further thins Philadelphia’s already questionable interior line depth.
  • PHI Center #63
Eagles C/G David Molk has retired from the NFL after four seasons.
Molk was a 2012 seventh-round pick of the Chargers. He played 15 snaps as a rookie but was waived before final cuts the following season. Molk latched on with the Eagles and played 409 snaps in 2014 before missing all of last season with a torn biceps. He was set to be a free agent next week.
