  • FA EDGE #40
Seahawks EDGE Darryl Johnson suffered a “significant” foot injury in the Week 4 win over the Lions and will be out indefinitely.
A trip to injured reserve sounds likely for the fourth-year pro. Johnson is on his third team after being a 2019 seventh-rounder of the Bills and has played 19% of the Seahawks’ defensive snaps through four weeks. He has two career sacks.

  • FA Safety #31
    Panthers released S Juston Burris.
Other notable cuts from the Panthers include defensive end Darryl Johnson and wide receiver Keith Kirkwood. Burris appeared in 10 games for Carolina last year, eight of which were starts. In 2020, Burris played on 92 percent of the Panthers’ defensive snaps during his 13 active games. His experience and ability to play special teams should land him a gig once rosters are settled.

  • FA EDGE #40
Panthers acquired DL Darryl Johnson from the Bills in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick.
Carolina was one of several teams interested in the EDGE rusher, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Taken by Buffalo 225th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, Johnson has one sack in each of his two pro seasons. He could take on more than a rotational role in Carolina.

  • FA EDGE #40
Bills selected North Carolina A&T DE Darryl Johnson with the No. 225 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Johnson (6'6/253) had a breakout 2018, earning first-team FCS All-American honors and the MEAC Defensive Player of the Year. He has the size to make the transition to the NFL, but Johnson only had one year of production against lower competition and is something of a one-trick pony as a pass rusher. Johnson will compete for a rotational role in Buffalo.
