Falcons selected San Diego State CB Darren Hall with the No. 108 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Hall (5'11/188) is light on accomplishments from his collegiate career but did rack up 25 pass breakups and six interceptions during his time as a two-year starter at SDSU. He made a name for himself in the MWC with good eyes, a reliable trigger towards the ball, and an admirable degree of physicality. When allowed to play off coverage or in zone assignments, Hall showed excellent spacing and the ability to drive to the ball based on the QB’s eyes and break up passes. Where Hall struggled was down the field, both in terms of athletic capabilities as well as his ability to find the ball over his shoulder. Having recorded a middling 4.47 40-yard dash at his Pro Day, as well as sub-40th percentile agility drills, Hall is probably a zone-only cornerback who may be best used as a nickel in the league.
