Injured Panthers CB Dante Wesley was named Mr. February in Jet Magazine’s 2008 Swimsuit Calendar.
Oh, hell yeah. Wesley will be featured walking down a Cancun beach. This couldn’t have come at a better time for Wesley, whose sex appeal will undoubtedly drive the soon-to-be free agent’s price slightly further from the league minimum.
  • DET Defensive Back
Panthers S Dante Wesley has apologized to Bucs PR Clifton Smith for his vicious, illegal hit on a punt return last week.
“He called me and apoligized, which I appreciate,” Smith said. “He said he was just trying to make a play.” Smith is still dealing with the aftereffects of a concussion and may not play this week. Wesley has been suspended for one game.
  • DET Defensive Back
Panthers DB Dante Wesley has moved from cornerback to safety.
Wesley can be the No. 4 safety after youngsters C.J. Wilson, Captain Munnerlyn, and Sherrod Martin have shown that they can step in and play at corner. This isn’t good news for Nate Salley, who hasn’t practiced much because of a knee injury.
  • DET Defensive Back
NFL suspended Panthers S Dante Wesley one game without pay for violating player safety rules in Week 6 against the Buccaneers.
Wesley flagrantly launched himself into Bucs returner Clifton Smith while covering a punt, well before Smith had fielded the ball. He was immediately ejected, and is lucky Smith wasn’t seriously injured on the brutal play.
