49ers second-year WR Danny Gray has a shoulder injury and is expected to miss time during the regular season.
The No. 105 overall pick of last year’s draft has an SC joint sprain. Hardly the development the 24-year-old needed after touching the ball just two times on offense as a rookie. Gray is looking droppable in Dynasty leagues.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
49ers declared WR Danny Gray, DL Arik Armstead, DE Nick Bosa, S Jimmie Ward, OT Trent Williams, and TE Tyler Kroft inactive for Week 6 against the Falcons.
Gray appears to be a healthy scratch after no longer dealing with the hip injury that hampered him early in the year. The 49ers’ skill players enter Week 6 in relative good health.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
49ers WR Danny Gray (hip) was removed from the Week 5 injury report.
Gray has been limited to two games after he was inactive in Week 1 and missed last week. The 49ers have slowplayed Gray, using him on 10% of snaps in the games he was active. 49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle) was also taken off the injury report ahead of Sunday’s game with the Panthers.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
49ers WR Danny Gray (hip) is doubtful for Week 4 against the Rams.
Gray did not practice all week and, as the designation suggests, is almost certainly not going to play against the Rams. The third-round rookie has yet to play more than seven snaps in a game this season. He is only worth a roster spot in Dynasty leagues.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
49ers WR Danny Gray (hip) didn’t practice Friday.
Gray missed the first two days of practice, likely putting him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 4. Jauan Jennings and Ray-Ray McCloud will see increased reps if Gray sits.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
49ers WR Danny Gray caught 2-of-4 targets for 99 yards and a touchdown in Friday’s preseason win over the Packers.
Gray played with the first-team offense, catching a 76-yard touchdown from Trey Lance on the second drive of the night. It’s potentially a sign of things to come for Gray, a college producer with 4.3 speed. Gray is a sleeper for targets in a 49ers offense that should take more deep shots with Lance this year. The third-round rookie has the talent to unseat Brandon Aiyuk, who’s been in and out of Kyle Shanahan’s doghouse, as the 49ers’ No. 2 receiver.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
49ers selected SMU WR Danny Gray with the No. 105 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
After spending two years at Blinn Community College, Gray (6'/186) transferred to SMU in 2020, amassing an 82-1,251-13 line in 18 games as a Mustang. Gray blazed a 4.33 40 at the Combine with a 34-inch vertical and 10-foot-6 broad jump, showing the elite speed that is evident on tape. He has struggled with drops and might have trouble with physical coverage in the NFL, but Gray is a big play waiting to happen who could easily outplay his draft stock. The Athletic’s draft guru Dane Brugler said if there is a Darnell Mooney in this draft, he would bet on Gray.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
SMU WR Danny Gray has multiple visits lined up for this week.
After running a blazing fast 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the combine, it’s no surprise that Gray (6'2/180) is highly in demand. He visited with the Raiders on Monday and the Vikings on Wednesday with visits planned with the Saints later this week and the Colts and Eagles for next week. Ranked 73rd on PFN’s Ian Cummings’ big board, Gray is projected to be a mid-round selection in the NFL Draft.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
SMU junior WR Danny Gray will declare for the 2022 NFL draft.
It hasn’t been announced on whether or not Gray (6'2/180) will play in SMU’s bowl game against Virginia, but he dealt with an injury the last couple of weeks of the season so it seems unlikely he’ll suit up. He had a breakout season as he led the Mustangs in both receiving yards and yards per catch.

  • PHI Wide Receiver #41
SMU junior WR Danny Gray (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Tulsa.
Gray (6'2/180), who leads the Mustangs in both receiving yards and touchdowns, has not appeared in a game since SMU beat UCF on November 13. The junior wide receiver, who has already accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, has a 49-803-9 line in ten games played.
