Ravens placed LB Dan Cody on injured reserve with a ACL injury, ending his season.
The rookie second-round pick will take over Peter Boulware’s old role as a rush linebacker next year, assuming his recovery goes well.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
Dan Cody had a successful first day of practice converting to linebacker.
The former Oklahoma standout will likely rush the quarterback plenty from the linebacker position. He’s unlikely to bump Adalius Thomas out of the starting lineup as a rookie.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
Ravens linebacker Dan Cody is expected to miss the 2005 season with an ACL injury.
The second-round pick was supposed to play a major role as a push-rush linebacker this season. This should lead to more defensive downs for Adalius Thomas and possibly re-interest in Peter Boulware returning to the Ravens.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
Ravens rookie LB Dan Cody was carted off the field at Baltimore’s first practice today.
He’ll get an MRI and it sounds relatively serious. Early reports indicate that the injury is likely an MCL sprain or mild tear, but not an ACL injury.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
Ravens LB Dan Cody will begin the season on the PUP list.
The third-year man finished his first two seasons on IR, and has only played in two games. Antwan Barnes will be counted on for a primary pass-rushing role.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
Ravens LB/DE Dan Cody hyperextended his right knee during Thursday’s practice and could miss the rest of the team’s offseason minicamps.
At this point, Cody has to be considered one of the more injury-prone players in the NFL. Rookie Antwan Barnes could now pass him on the depth chart.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
Ravens LB/DE Dan Cody could require knee surgery that would end his season.
The Ravens and Cody are quick to point out they don’t think surgery will be necessary. “They say more times than not, it heals on its own,” Cody said. “But there is no 100 percent guarantee.” If Cody misses his third straight season, his NFL career could be over before it started.
  • BAL Defensive Lineman
The Ravens are considering placing linebackers Dan Cody (knee) and Mike Smith (shoulder) and fullback Justin Green (knee) on the PUP list.
Cody, a 2005 second-round pick, hyperextended his right knee May 20 and tore a small piece of cartilage. The Ravens have apparently not ruled out season-ending surgery.
  • Ravens T Jonathan Ogden will miss the start of training camp with a toe injury.
Ogden hasn’t participated in any offseason work. The toe injury isn’t expected to sideline Ogden into the season. If fact, he may just have an agreement with the coaches to skip the first few weeks of camp. Dan Cody (knee), Mike Smith, and Justin Green (knee) may join Ogden on the camp PUP list.
  • ARI Running Back
Ravens FB Justin Green (torn ACL), KR B.J. Sams (broken leg), and LB/DE Dan Cody (torn PCL) took part in drills at Wednesday’s minicamp session.
Green is competing to start but will likely end up behind rookie Le’Ron McClain by Week 1. Sams appears likely to lose his duties to Yamon Figurs, who can actually play a position. Cody returns as a situational pass rusher.
