    Texans re-signed LB Cory Littleton.
Littleton was released yesterday when Houston cut down to their 53-man roster. Releasing him only to re-sign him a day later was simply a procedural move as the Texans brought him back under a nearly identical contract. Littleton totaled 47 tackles, two QB hits, and two pass defenses in 2022.
  • FA Linebacker #42
    Texans released LB Cory Littleton.
Littleton signed a one-year, $2.4 million contract with the franchise in March a the opening of the league year but ultimately was held off the team’s final 53. He spent one year with the Panthers after being released by the Raiders the year prior. Also waived or released were OL Tyler Beach, DE Thomas Booker IV, WR Jalen Camp, CB Cameron Dantzler, DT Khalil Davis, OT Austin Deculus, RB Gerrid Doaks, CB Cobi Francis, DE Ali Gaye, S Brandon Hill, WR Johnny Johnson III, S Darius Joiner, TE Dalton Keene, C Jimmy Morrissey, TE Jordan Murray, DE Adedayo Odeleye, QB E.J. Perry, RB Larry Rountree, LB Garret Wallow, WR Jared Wayne, P Ty Zentner, OT Rashaad Coward, DT Byron Cowart, OL Michael Deiter, WR Adam Humphries, CB Desmond King II, LB Christian Kirksey, DE Jacob Martin, CB D’Angelo Ross, TE Mason Schreck, WR Steven Sims, TE Eric Tomlinson, TE Nick Vannett and
    DE Chase Winovich.

Texans signed LB Cory Littleton, formerly of the Panthers, to a one-year, $2.4 million contract.
Since his second-team All-Pro year in 2018 with the Rams, Littleton has bounced around a bit and enters his age-30 season on a second consecutive one-year deal. He started seven games and had 47 tackles last season for the Panthers. Littleton probably will be a base downs linebacker for the Texans and come off the field on passing downs while Christian Harris and Christian Kirksey remain on the field.

  • Linebacker #42
Panthers signed LB Cory Littleton, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year $2.6 million contract.
Littleton was a massive free-agent flop for the Raiders and was released. Carolina will attempt to rehabilitate him and middle linebacker is currently vacant with 2018 pick Jermaine Carter a free agent. Littleton enters his Age 29 season looking like he’s valued purely as a stopgap.

  • Linebacker #42
    Raiders released LB Cory Littleton.
The move will not become official until the new league year begins next Wednesday, but the Raiders have already let Littleton know he will be let go. Releasing Littleton saves Las Vegas $11 million in real money and around $4 million against the cap if they make him a post-June 1 cut, which is expected. Littleton has not lived up to the three-year, $36 million contract he signed back in 2020. He might have to settle for a prove-it deal on the open market.

  • Linebacker #42
Raiders restructured LB Cory Littleton’s contract.
Littleton was set to make $11.25 million in his first season with the Raiders. This clears $8.3 million in cap space by converting Littleton’s salary into a signing bonus. Littleton just signed a three-year, $36 million deal in March.

  • Linebacker #42
Raiders signed LB Cory Littleton, formerly of the Rams, to a three-year, $36 million contract.
The deal includes $22 million guaranteed. Littleton is expected to play weakside linebacker alongside recently signed MLB Nick Kwiatkoski. A true three-down sideline-to-sideline option for Oakland’s front-seven, Littleton’s 26 passes defended last year were charted as the most of any linebacker in the past three seasons (via Sportsradar). Entering his prime in what will be his age-26 campaign, Littleton’s loss is obviously a massive one for the cap-straddled Rams. Look for the Raiders to spend up for another piece in their secondary in the coming days.

The Athletic’s Vic Tafur reports the Raiders and Packers are “going to be all over” impending free agent LB Cory Littleton.
A true three-down specialist with an unusual role on special teams, 26-year-old Littleton arguably hits free agency as the market’s most coveted inside linebacker following 134 combined tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and another two interceptions with the Rams last year. He also fits the Raiders’ reported plans of spending up for defensive stalwarts in free agency while addressing their offense via the draft. Las Vegas will undoubtedly be competing with the Packers, Rams, and a handful of other suitors once the legal tampering window opens.
  • Linebacker #42
Rams assigned a second-round tender on restricted free agent ILB Corey Littleton.
The tender will pay $3.095 million on a one-year deal, and it means that the Rams would receive a second-round pick in the unlikely event that a team was to sign Littleton away. Littleton received high grades in pass coverage in 2018 and is viewed as the “quarterback of the defense” by the Rams.
  • Linebacker #42
Rams signed Washington LB Cory Littleton.
Littleton (6'3/238) was a 32-game starter for the Huskies, seeing action at both rush end and outside linebacker and particularly shining on special teams. He tallied 26 career tackles for loss with 12 sacks and three forced fumbles, earning honorable mention All-Pac 12 as a senior. Littleton showed good-not-great athleticism in Indy, running 4.72 with a 29 1/2-inch vertical. Littleton has some pass-rush ability, but his likeliest NFL ticket is special teams. He’s not an upside prospect.
