  • Wide Receiver #9
Giants released Cole Beasley from the team’s practice squad.
The Giants for some reason signed Beasley in August, cut him, then re-signed him to the practice squad. He’s languished there for two months and this week requested his release from the practice squad. Beasley, 34, probably won’t see NFL game action again.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #9
The New York Giants designated WR Cole Beasley to return to practice from practice squad injured reserve.
Beasley was added to the Giants’ slot-infested receiver room prior to the season. He was cut and signed to the team’s practice squad before being put on practice squad injured reserve with a leg injury. If he can return to full health, Beasley could be called up from the practice squad to play for an underwhelming Giants offense.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #9
Giants placed WR Cole Beasley on practice squad injured reserve.
The leg injury that plagued Beasley during the preseason will now send the veteran wide receiver to the practice squad injured reserve. Beasley had been a candidate to receive the game day call-up but will now be faced with an additional obstacle with his health. The Giants signed former Commanders wide receiver Cam Sims to their practice squad in an associated move.

Giants signed WR Cole Beasley to the practice squad.
Beasley was cut on Tuesday when the Giants got down to their 53-man roster. His release and subsequent addition to the practice squad has been expected. He will work his way back from a leg injury that has held him out of practice and should be called up to the team’s gameday roster later this year.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
    Giants released WR David Sills.
Sills continues to try and catch on to a 53-man roster but will be left off the Giants’ final lineup. Sills had a solid preseason for the G-Men, totaling eight receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown, which included a solid 6-81-1 line in the final game. In addition to Sills, the Giants also released/waived QB Tommy DeVito, RB Jashaun Corbin, WR Kalil Pimpleton, TE Ryan Jones, OT Tyre Phillips, DT Ryder Anderson, DT Kobe Smith, DE Habakkuk Baldonado, LB Darrian Beavers, LB Tomon Fox, LB Ray Wilborn, LB Dyontae Johnson, CB Gemon Greeen, S Alex Cook, LS Cameron Lyons, LB Oshane Ximines, WR Jamison Crowder, WR Cole Beasley, CB Amani Oruwariye, and C Sean Harlow.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #9
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo says Cole Beasley “won’t be on the initial 53-man roster for the Giants but is expected to stick around.”
Beasley has been sidelined since suffering a leg injury earlier this month. According to Garafolo, Beasley will likely open the season on the practice squad as he continues to recover from his injury but has a chance to get on the 53-man roster later in the season. Beasley will need to get through a bevy of slot receivers if he hopes to make the eventual 53-man roster, as the Giants have arguably the most slot receivers in the league. Still, he’s a seasoned vet who is familiar with head coach Brian Daboll’s offensive system, making him valued depth.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #11
Cole Beasley (leg) did not practice Wednesday.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Beasley, 34, injured his leg in Saturday’s preseason game. Beasley caught four passes before his injury and saw ample playing time — a sign that he could be on the team’s roster bubble. Beasley is competing with a bevy of New York slot receivers for a regular season roster spot.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #11
Giants signed WR Cole Beasley, formerly of the Bills.
Beasley previously said that he would retire if he didn’t find a home during training camp, but it looks like he’ll hang around for at least another summer despite retiring once already. He is reunited with Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who was his offensive coordinator back in Buffalo. Beasley’s familiarity with the offense makes him a natural fit as a camp body, though it’s unclear what kind of role he will play in the regular season. The Giants’ receiver room is mostly filled out with slot players including Parris Campbell, Jamison Crowder, Jalin Hyatt, and Wan’Dale Robinson. New York’s depth chart is a messy situation that should be avoided for fantasy purposes until we get a better picture of the pecking order.

Free agent WR Cole Beasley said he will retire if he’s not on a roster by training camp.
Beasley took to Twitter on Saturday saying, “If I’m not in a Training Camp I’m retiring. Coming in when the season has already started doesn’t give me a chance to be implemented and make an impact.” Beasley saw a limited stint with the Buccaneers in 2022 and retired just a few weeks after joining the team in Week 2. He soon un-retired to join the Bills on their quest for a Super Bowl but finished the season with a mere six receptions for 35 yards and no touchdowns. Just days removed from his 34th birthday, it’s unlikely Beasley has much to offer a team outside of a backup slot role.

Cole Beasley caught 2-of-5 targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Bills’ Wild Card Round win over the Dolphins.
Beasley’s fourth-quarter score was his first touchdown since Week 6 of last year. He also deflected a pass into a Miami defender’s hands for an interception, so it wasn’t a flawless day from the veteran receiver. Beasley and Khalil Shakir played larger roles versus Miami because Isaiah McKenzie was ruled out before this game. If McKenzie cannot suit up next week, Beasley will have some PPR-based appeal for daily fantasy players,
